i've gotten accustomed to a certain level of living. Toto Toilet

so interesting.

i think our toto toilets have been in service now about 4 years. we changed all the toilets over. first they flush amazing. 1.2 gallons and i joke "a fat hamster treading water wouldnt stand a chance". it would get sucked down. bran-muffin buffet party aftermath? no issues. in 4 years, i havent had a single clog.

i dont need to discuss the "wash" feature, except note that i have had some strange visitors come by just to take that feature out for a test drive. my coworker brought his wife once, hat in hand, "hey cliff, mind if Susan here tries your toilet?" my wife's nurse dept has paraded thru one time or another. we have sold the idea to a few friends..they now own Toto Washlets as well.

the warmed toilet seat. talk about pooping in tall cotton!! late night sessions on cold winter wake up calls? aaaaahhhh...when i dont have home court advantage, that quick gasp when at first contact is shocking. so barbarian!! my wife likes to mess with me, and she turns off the heat in my bathroom. evil.

best house mod ever. for me. it will be the first thing i do if i ever buy another home. that big pack of toilet paper from Costco lasts 13 months.

We had Toto toilets installed when we remodeled our SoCal home. They were fantastic.

One of the things I missed when we moved to Florida.

A regular toilet will do..if a person follows 'portion control'.

We got the washlet as well. So nice to have after certain meals. Ours has a dryer fan, but I never use it. I can’t imagine using one without TP though.

Lastly, one thing I hate about regular Toto toilets is that ALL the flappers start leaking after 4 years. I had to replace all of them.

They are pretty good toilets, we are using a washlet on one of ours, not worried about paper shortage.

For sure have your electrician install an electrical outlet behind the toilet. It’s was the most difficult part. So even if you do it way down the road the plug is done. Best spot for an LED nightlight anyways

I think my model of toilet is discontinued. But we opted for the official Toto toilet with the appropriate seat. It allows the hoses to be hidden. A toilet seat you retrofit to an existing toilet is odd. You sit higher and the hoses run visibly on the side like they don’t belong their. I think the full unit was $1800. ? Maybe. My plumber did the install. He said it was easy. And the outlet pipe on a Toto is 3”. So it won’t clog. Not by me.

Our remodel was ~7 years ago so I don’t recall the specific model. We got it through BJs Discount Plumbing in Garden Grove CA, https://bjdiscount.shop/search?type=product&q=Toto

In my last house, I installed an outlet behind the toilet, just in case we went with a special toilet.

Speaking of toilets, round or elongated? What’s your choice?

i’ve always found that a round toilet, was like taking a **** in 1 gallon can.😂

Yep, gotta be an elongated bowl! A round bowl may be ok for women, children, and horse jockies, but I can't imagine most men would like them.

Absolutely, they are called "chair height" which I'm pretty sure is a reference to wheel chairs.

Although I did have a co-worker that once admitted that if he used the toilet I'm the handicapped stall at work his legs would go to sleep because they dangled. He wasn't a tall guy.

Interesting! We are doing major remodels on both of our bathrooms, and it would be easy for me to add an outlet behind each toilet even if we're unlikely to ever have a powered toilet.

I have Toto commercial toilets with Zurn flushmaster valves. I can flush a baby goat clear out to the ocean if I want to.
