Giving my puppy a bath. What a battle!
I’m all scratched up and the bathroom is a mess. Any tips to make it easier next time? She’s only 3.5 months and 25 lb. I don’t know how I’m going to do it when she’s a full grown Sheplabdoodle. I might have to bathe her at the local pet store’s bathing facility for $20.

Maybe a few friendly baths where he only gets wet up to his tummy then gets lots of treats.

I used to give my sister's cat a bath every week. 20lb SOB that fought like hell, and screamed bloody murder. $20 is a no brainer.

Try a dry bath plus a watering can, with lots of lovely neck rubs, tummy rubs and treats. Once she knows it's fun she'll be in there like a shot.

What a cute pup
! I can't resize pics, and the 5mb upload limit is absurd on this site (they can be resized), etc. so I rarely post 'em. My Lab has never had a bath, but she'll jump in a pond in a heartbeat .... a waterdog for sure. They are "self cleaning" (it's not good 'n proper for the breed... oils in their coats, etc. ) and I've only hose washed 'em rarely if muddy. She doesn't smell, etc. no need to. Don't know about your mix though .... here's one from a couple years back...Moka sez "hey pup" ![]()

My dog is fine with a bath- possibly even excited for one, but I highly suspect it’s because he gets a full size treat after!
Because he is paralyzed in the rear and wears a diaper, I worry about urine burns, so I also use dry shampoo on a wet washcloth on his junk zone after each expression of his bladder and change of diaper. Maybe try a washcloth and work up from there?

Our Yorkie gets all excited when the groomer comes. We use a service that comes to you house, so convenient. They have one of those big Sprinter vans, it's called Zoom to Groom. Cute puppy!!! Here is my boy, Paisley!!! Paipai!!!

Mom's dog does not like to take a bath. She's a Beagle Corgi and once she hears the word "bocha" (Japanese slang, to bathe), her ears go back and off she goes in hiding. When I get her in the laundry tray, she hugs the side.

Get off my lawn!
|
We have two dachshunds, one long hair and one smooth hair. The smooth hair male puts up with it because of the treat he gets before the towel dry. We do him first and he is dry in no time. The long hair is second and she is usually whining to get her bath and the treat. She gets the bath, and then lots more rubbing and combing and attention from my wife, and she loves it all.
With small dogs we can bath them in the sink in the laundry room. Standing up, is a lot more comfortable than on the floor next to a tub.

Counterclockwise?

The "in" thing for luxury country homes these days is to have a dog bath in the mud room.
They are like walk in bathtubs made from tiles. You know you have too much money when ......

Our 90 lb boxer mix hated them. Get a choker leash. Position behind the ears & under the chin, so you can't harm the larynx. Have someone hold the leash straight up & tight, like you see on groomer tables. After a few struggles & realizing he wasn't getting out, he calmed down enough to get the job done. He never really liked them, but tolerated them.

Get off my lawn!
|
My parents raised two human boys, and many litters of English Bulldogs. It was always cool to have puppies around, and we had to work hard at not getting too attached as they were all for sale.
One particular litter had 6 puppies that all just LOVED water. We had large water bowls for the adult dogs, and the puppies would all climb in and act like they were water dogs. We ended up naming one of them Ester Williams as she was always jumping in and getting wet. Every other litter thought water was just for drinking. That one litter was just different.

My wife read somewhere that putting a dollop of peanut butter on the wall of the bath so the dog can lick it will give them something to do rather than fight you.
Our beagle, named Bagel, wasn't amused and still hates the bath, peanut butter or not. It has become a 2 person job. One to hold leash and the other to do the job. Meanwhile the TerriPoo loves it and just runs around the house crazy when it is over. The only other suggestion is to close the doggy door before bath time begins. Once we didn't do that and immediately after the bath one of the dogs went out and rolled around in the dirt. Bath number 2 followed.

Groomer. My ol' girl was 110 lbs but very mellow. She didn't fight the bath but looked so sad that I couldn't deal with the guilt. So, groomer.
