My doctor got arrested for murder.

When i got the call yesterday morning I thought to myself, they got the wrong guy, or there must be more to this. Well i don't have much info on what exactly happened, or why, but it's a real shock. He had been my Dr. almost from the moment he got out of med school. At least 15 years. Mellow, calm, always smiling. Great guy. I was really bummed when he left Conn. this year to move to Florida. His wife is also a doctor. Whole life ahead of him and he went and blew it. Something must have snapped. He shot the person behind him as they drove down the road. Not sure what possessed him to shoot at the guy behind him. Hopefully more info will come out. Sad for everyone involved.

My assumption would be road rage. It often seems the sanest, seemingly most rational people can at times succumb to road rage behavior.

Or, roll down rear window, magnetic gun holster, maybe he was a closet serial killer.

I have a college buddy that is the nicest guy you would ever meet.

Quiet. Keeps to himself.

Never married.

Obsessed with the ONE girlfriend back in 1989...

I wouldn't be surprised if he chops up bodies and stuffs them in the basement.

On the drive home he was probably thinking about tomorrow's appointment calendar and realized he had one with Starless and it drove him crazy.

And furthermore ....I'm not that nice, never obsessed over a girlfriend, and the real clincher is ... NO basement

This whole thing seems really bizarre. Imagine driving along, lowering the rear window and then turning to shoot someone.

I suspect the truck driver isn't his only victim.

Crazy story.

What’s amazing, is the police were able to piece together all kinds of information, that lead to the not so good doctor.

Shame there were witnesses. He could have said "I'm a doctor I can sign off the death certificate. Lets call it heart failure as his heart has stopped beating."

That's one hell of a shot - out the back window of a pickup truck, behind him, from the driver's seat? I don't think I could even contort into a position that would allow me to do that. Kinda makes me wonder...

Oh, and too, this whole GPS tracking thing really concerns me. Wasn't there a case years ago where Google, or Apple, or someone refused to "unlock" a suspect's (can't remember what he did...) phone, citing "privacy" issues? Is this now wide open, where authorities can track us any damn time they like? Oh, I know, they "caught a killer" in this case, and "if you are not doing anything wrong, why would you worry?" kind of logic, but... umm... not only "no", but "hell no"...

The tundra has a rear window that lowers in its entirety. It doesn't just have a little slider in the middle like most pickups. So that certainly will help. If the guy brake checked the truck to a stop and put his pickup in park, he could have moved around freely in his cab to place the shot? Still a hell of a shot to the head and neck, upward angle, 10 yards + No mention if he emptied his magazine though?

Strange they didn't match the ballistics of the Dr.'s gun and the bullets found. They just said they found a matching weapon, meaning caliber probably.

Yup, I'm familiar with the Tundra rear window. Still, though, even absent the entire truck - sit in one of its seats and shoot something behind you. Damn near impossible to contort like that. Now add the door, center console, footwell, steering wheel - I know I simply could not turn around enough with all of that hindering my movement.

I wouldn't read too much into that. I bet they don't have any fired shell casings, since they probably fell somewhere into the truck. Or, of course, a revolver wouldn't leave any... But even if they did have casings, they are not nearly as conclusive as our television crime dramas would have us believe. Especially with modern firearms manufacturing technologies - they are far more uniformly made than in generations past, so they don't "individualize" spent casings the way they used to. Far fewer machine marks, hand fitting irregularities, etc. Now if they only have recovered bullets, then all bets are off, especially if they are the now widely popular expanding hollow points, or something that breaks up significantly.

The doctor must have had the same instructor as Alec Baldwin. First it was invisible Glocks made of ceramics that would get through a metal detector, now operator-less handguns that have benchrest accuracy firing backwards from a moving vehicle at another moving vehicle. What will they think up next?

I suspect the guy died of a heat attack after thinking about how he inappropriately groped a young lady at a party back in 1978. The kindly doctor was administering first aid to him when some cops Derek Chauvin had been mentoring arrived on the scene and tried to violate him without the appropriate lube. Merry Christmas.

From some other info I was able to dig up, it was a 9mm and the barrel and slide were missing so they couldn't do a ballistics check. Dr. Piri had no explanation as to where the missing pieces were.
I would say he's Fuch-ed.

Years ago an MD in our our area (I grew up w/ his kids) got caught with hidden cameras in his house filming his kids friends in the shower and bathroom (during sleepovers, etc). Was very public and he ended up committing suicide before they could arrest him.

In the past 5 years using DNA evidence they have found hime guilty of at least one unsolved/cold case murder on him in our area, possibly two, both a few years before he was caught for the above.

Crazy story.
