My question to this is why is this kind of behavior happenning in the past 5-10 years or has it always happened just that it was not filmed by a bystander or made the news?

Needs to be a "zero tolerance" policy across all of the airlines imo. You don't wanna wear a mask (if required), assault a FA or another passenger, or wanna light up a cigarette ... fine. Your flying daze on commercial airlines are OVER as soon as the plane lands. Permanently.

Only someone living in a cave has not heard of this happening regularly. And certainly idiots like her need to be put on the no fly list, and on a federal list of unstable people.

If you just can't wear a mask for a few hours, don't go to the airport. Your rights to act as you please stop at the airport property. Follow the rules that millions of other people follow every year, and all is fine. Like driving on the public roads, there are laws that have to followed. The rules of the road are for everyone to avoid chaos.

I don't fly a ton but the worst behavior i've seen on a plane is bare feet or fiddling with cell phone during landing process.

I’m not sure what airline rules you think he was not following. Delta allows eating and drinking on flights over 251 miles, which this certainly was.

I’ve never managed to eat or drink with a mask on, perhaps you can share with all of us how you do it.

If this woman had a legitimate complaint, she should’ve given it to the flight attendants to address.

She was way out of line and I’m sorry she didn’t get her nose broken.

I’ve had it with these morons. The flight crew’s job is difficult enough. They are merely following set policy. If you don’t like it, don’t fly. We simply need to enforce existing laws.

An individual on an aircraft in the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States who, by assaulting or intimidating a flight crew member or flight attendant of the aircraft, interferes with the performance of the duties of the member or attendant or lessens the ability of the member or attendant to perform those duties, or attempts or conspires to do such an act, shall be fined under title 18, imprisoned for not more than 20 years, or both. However, if a dangerous weapon is used in assaulting or intimidating the member or attendant, the individual shall be imprisoned for any term of years or for life.

in the cold calm of the next morning, i bet she will regret the krap out of her behavior.

i'm going to be on a plane in a few weeks. first time in 2 years. i am masking up, and keeping it on. i'll drink and eat later. eff it. i hope everyone keeps it together on my flight. the airplane employees have enough BS to deal with.

and shouldnt we be discussing the guy on an active flight with his phone on!! hahaha. (i know, airplane mode)
