Every single one of them got cancer. Lost two cats to it as you know, and you know about Boney's multiple surgeries. Our little one has cancer too, but she's too old to undergo surgery. May be the food, maybe not, but Blue was the common thing in all of them. We will never buy it again. |
Nutro's Lamb and Rice
Kirkland Lamb and Rice For the hunting dog currently Purina Pro Plan. That is a very common food in the highline hunting dog community and it looks to work well for everyone. Genrally, just like with the oil or gasoline threads, you can't go wrong with a quality product. Just stay away from the super cheap stuff. Read up on grain fee. Do not feed it. There are health issues associated with it. And stop bathing the dog every month. Dogs only need to be hosed down when they get dirty. Maybe a deep clean once a year with shampoo. |
Costco Healthy weight..
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1641005436.jpg Mostly because Nalu thinks that's him on the bag. He can stare at it for hours... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1641005545.jpg J/K, he also gets chicken twice a day and any scraps that he can beg from the Wife. Spoiled brat he is. |
Our 7 yo Akita’s bowl is kept full and she is good with that. She stops by, gets a mouthful and finds a comfortable place to eat. Maintains her weight, 85 lbs, well and has never been sick. Purina one is her food.

Small sample size but we won’t use it either. |

My dog would not eat the Blue wilderness and a few others after getting sick on it a few times. He chose lamb-rice Purina Pro Plan and that's what he gets these days. The "off proteins" i.e. not beef/chicken are supposed to be better. Also gets a small scoop of of the canned cat food as an appetizer and a piece of Aldi SuperTurkeyJerky for doing good business. They don't wander far when there is treat waiting back home. OTOH, Mom's Bichon got sick on anything but grain free supposedly but I suspect the brand. Chewed his paws raw and peed blood plus every carpet. |
Anyone who wanders onto my property uninvited and is too slow to escape the consequences of their poor decision making skills.

^^^^ I'd supplement with a high quality kibble too! Just don't give 'em half of whatever biscuit yer gettin' at the drive through window... like some guys I've known in the past ... and they had happy tails too ;)
