Jeez, guilty until you prove to the contrary? I've seen that before in about 2008ish when Congress slipped a similar burden shift into the UCMJ sexual assault statute. Totally unconstitutional but why should that matter?

Pretty sure I have a couple of .22 rifles that fit the NJ def of assault weapon. One was my Granny's, who knew she was a criminal?

God speed to Mr. Nappen!

At one point our legislators wanted to ban tube loaded .22 cal rifles because they held too many rounds. That got nixed.

There's a little unknown NJ gun law as an example: You are allowed to transport your firearm from your residence to your new residence (and to a gun range, gunsmith, hunting ground...) Same applies to FMJ rounds. But that's not the case for hollow points. When they increased the punishment for using hollow points during a crime, they also somehow restricted transportation of these rounds. So if you move, transporting your hollow points to a new residence is illegal. If you do not have good legal representation, you can be charged with a 3rd class felony and 12 years of jail time with not parole possible.

The moral of the story is don't live in NJ, travel through NJ, look at or say the name of NJ!

Well yeah, it's ****ing NJ.

Any state that thinks jug handles are a good idea deserves the ridicule.

flatbutt 01-10-2022 08:15 PM

and yet it's my home. Besides jug handles are so much better than circles.

Well, besides limiting CCW laws, jug handles, and the inability to freely pump our own gas, we do have this:

I live in the Highlands of NJ.

Erskine Looking in the Ramapo State Forest. My home is in in front of the first body of water in the center of the picture. View is north-westerly, looking towards west NJ and NY State.

View from my front yard. The Erskine Lookout point in the above picture is on the ridge somewhere in the center of this image:

Oh - and required content: home defense spoon. It's a Hungarian made FEG P9R - a Browning High Power knockoff with a safety and single/double action, to differentiate it from the original (to prevent copyright violation lawsuits)

So yeah - I live in New Jersey - yougottaproblemwitdat? ;)

Isn't the final arbiter the Cop who pulls you over and finds out your carrying your gun with you for some reason unknown???
This in turn leads to the realization this citizen intends to possibly use the gun in a manner other than home defense which is the norm.
So now your @ the next level of suspicion to an armed officer, what do you do?

Is the likeliness of this scenario occurring before the need for armed self defense ?

We're almost neighbors. I'm smack dab in the middle of Berkshire Valley between rts 23 and 15. Not as pretty as yours but I do have 50 acres of water in my backyard.

I might agree if they weren't so randomly used and there was signage larger than a postage stamp alerting you to them farther than 20 from it allowing you time to get out of the left lane were normal people expect to make left turns from and not having to slam on the brakes and cut everyone off trying to get over.

fair point. The old saying here was "everybody knows" which means "everybody who lives here knows".

Cool! I had a matched pair of FEG P9s, never should have sold them. One of the things I really dislike about Hi-Powers & clones is the magazine disconnect and how it really drags on the trigger pull. If you haven't already, you might want to consider replacing the trigger w/one from Cylinder & Slide. A bit wider (nice feel), better leverage (more linear pull), and does away with the magazine disconnect (gets rid of the gritty drag on the trigger pull). Last I saw about $45, well worth it. Otherwise you might want to polish the front of your magazines to smooth out the trigger pull.

HTH!

Can one that has ccw in one state purchase a pistol in a reciprocating state without a waiting period or background check?

Rick Lee 01-15-2022 04:45 AM

Not legally and CCW has nothing to do with it.

Joe Bob 01-15-2022 08:39 AM

Not the answer I expected. Here in GA I can pick up a pistol cash and carry with my ccw.
