Good Bye Old Friend
Getting ready to sell our Sequoia. It has be a great vehicle for many years and taken us on many great adventures. I hope it finds a good home, is it weird to care about where our old cars end up?

Although huge and hugely thirsty, the Sequoia is a helluva vehicle.
Here's hoping the P-UV gives you the kind of comfortable, reliable service you've almost certainly enjoyed with the Sequoia. _

I'm doing a final detail of the interior and then going to list it up. I will not miss the 12mpg, but it really is a great rig. Only 130k miles - only ever needed routine maintenance.
Thanks Norm, the Cayenne is a single owner all dealer serviced car. I hear good things about the reliability of Cayennes, but picked up an extended warranty just in case.

I average 15mpg on the LC, so I am in the thirsty range as well. But there is, if you don't pile on yearly mileage, a huge market for your Toyota. Best of luck in the sale. It is a beauty.

Not in my opinion!!
![]() I had a Sequoia of that vintage. Great vehicle. In fact, I've owned 12 Toyotas and most of them were hard to part with. I'm currently daily-driving my 1997 Land Cruiser just because I love it.

Concerning JFK's car, I'd be worried about the amount of salt this car has seen during winters in San Diego - could be a deal breaker. Buyer beware ![]()

If you bought that new, and drove all those miles, assuming gas at 3 bucks a gallon, you have fed the beast over 30k in fuel. I wouldn't advise using actual gas cost. Hate to think what my old 4runner ate. I did like the truck, even with the horrible 3.slow in it. |

I will be somewhat the contrarian here.
I sold a similar Sequoia that was AMAZING for full size SUV mileage. I got about 17 with it. But, also a different take I found the build quality to be poorer than I like. Have a 100 series landcruiser now with excellent build quality and AWFUL mileage. But yes, I get the sorrow of parting with an old friend. My SC was a good buddy. |

Run it by carvana, shift, vroom, driveway, and carmax dot com. You might be shocked. Only takes minutes.

Cayenne is not for the faint of heart at the gas station (or the repair shop) either.

That’s a nice looking Sequoia! I had an old 4Runner that I sold to my BIL for cheap to help him out. He lost it in divorce a couple of years later. I wish he had given me a chance to buy it back.

Aren't Sequoias basically a Tundra with an SUV body? As such, a very decent vehicle but do not mistake it for Land Cruiser quality. A good family hauler, though, with Toyota reliability.
![]() That looks like a very nice example.

Wait, you guys sell your old cars!
I haven't sold a car since 1995, and I still feel bad about selling it. After 30 year with the El Camino and 26 year with the 911 I can't imagine selling either one.

I hated my Sequioa couldn't get rid of it fast enough. Not weird to care about your old vehicles. Like a pet they become part of the family.

i drove my boss around in my Tacoma. he commented on how clean it was.
(its dirty now thanks to my dog). he asked me if i still loved it and will i get a new one soon. i said, "when i sell this thing or it goes away, i will need a day of bereavement leave" he said, "okay" hahha.

I was really happy when I clicked this link and discovered that it was a car and not the passing of a pet which is kind of what I was expecting.
