Automated programable button pusher for a remote?
Ok, one for the brain trust.
I am trying to do some macro photography with a sony camera using what is called focus stacking. Unfortunately there is no way to automate this through sony. But I can do it manually on a sony bluetooth remote. Basically I need to push 2 different buttons on the remote- one button 3 times, then a different button once- and repeat. The 3 presses adjusts focus, the other single button push takes an image. Doing it manually- I have to do it about 100 times to finalize an image. Driving me nuts. I am an old fart- trainable but not writing code or anything. I just need 2 solenoids that I can jerry rig to push 2 buttons, one button 3 times then a different button once for a set number of cycles. Timing interval not vital- about 1/2 second apart or so. Or, I could probably disassemble the remote and directly access the switches so I would just need to pulse closed two circuits in a programmable fashion. I know what I want to do, just don't know how to do it. Thanks, this place can come up with just about anything!! gary |

If it is a bluetooth remote, is there a matching app you could install on a tablet or phone? If so, can you record macros on that app? By 'macro', I mean one press of the tablet equals 'focus', 'focus', 'focus',, 'shutter'.

It is a blue tooth remote, but no matching app.
I am not sure how bluetooth works- is there a way to detect and "copy" the pulses? I expect to spend more time figuring this out than it is worth- but I love to play thanks gary |

I just pulled the remote apart.
If I could just find a simple circuit that would simply close a circuit repeatedly at an adjustable time, once about every 0.5 sec and a second every 1.5-2 seconds this would work. Does anyone know a diy site that would help with something like this? I did stuff with 555 timing circuits 50yrs ago, but not anymore. One other option would be some type of laptop based app that would allow me to set timers to control two circuits? Thanks for helping me tinker around. gary Last edited by gchappel; 01-24-2022 at 05:36 PM.. |
