How do I reset the alarm on this clock?

For the last month this mutt has been waking me up between 4:30 am and 5 am. I let her out just before I go to bed. Doesn't matter if it is 10pm or 1 am, she decides it is time to wake up.

She sleeps at the foot of the bed and to wake me up she gently touches her ice cold nose to my nose.

And how is she so damn accurate each morning? Here is the last week.

Help!

I've just about given up. We have a beagle that is around 10 maybe 11 years old (can't be sure because we got her from another family).

I try to get her outside around 10pm just so we don't get woken up in middle of night for a pee break. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Even more odd is sometimes I just let her sleep without a 10pm pee break and she sleeps right thru until we get up.

She's a sweetheart!

Maybe just ignore her until she gets the point and goes back to sleep herself.

That said - maybe just cherish the fact she's in your life and try to accommodate her in her indulgences....

Skritches from all of us!

Wish I knew.

Mine will wake me up around 1am, thinking she needs to pee I let her out and she just goes for a long drink of water. Then around 4:30 she lets me know that she really needs to pee.

She's a great dog, and I'm privileged to have her, but the nighttime routine is getting old...

When she gets up, what happens, breakfast, bathroom break, pets?

She looks like she's gettin a little gray, so maybe a little older.

How dark is your room?

If she seem desperate to pee, maybe take up her water in the evening so there isn't any drinking close to bed (works for us as we get older, right?).

If anything else happens, don't let it. If it's not dark in the room, try to get it darker.

I've got an old wiener, and occasionally he'll wake up in the middle of the night. Fortunately, for him it's not a habit. On the weekends he gets up between 6 and 7, but that's because that's when I get up for work the other 5 days a week. I'll take him out and can then go back to bed and he's fine (until closer to breakfast time).

My old boy needs a pee break around 2am or so. Then he starts making noise for breakfast 30-60 minutes early. Lately there's little M&M size turdlets somewhere near the head of the bed. I don't know what that's about. He's nearly deaf and blind and helpless. It is what it is, but I'm cherishing every day he's with me.

Just put diapers and pants on him!

Mine is incontinent, so I express his bladder before bedtime and he normally sleeps until I get up which is 4:15am then we go out to express his bladder and he eats his breakfast. Work days, I go to work, weekends I go back to bed as does he.

Our dogs have been barking about the same time. We moved them to the office in the front of the house a few months ago. My sleepy guess has become: that is when the newspaper gets tossed from a car onto our driveway. Otherwise quiet cul de sac. But they didn't do this for at least a month after the change in sleeping quarters.

I reset my dog’s internal clock in the morning to one hour later. When she would come to my side of the bed in the morning I asked her to lay down. Once she did, I waited 5-10 minutes before getting up to let her out and feed her. Gradually, I stayed in bed longer and longer before I got her up to be let out. Now she waits for me to get her up in the morning, or worst cases will lay next to the bed and wait for me to take her out. Originally I did not plan this process, but it did happen over time.

Good luck!

I could lend you my cat. he wakes up at 3:00am, or if he's sleeping in 3:05am

So after having had the cat to stay, a 4:30 start to the day would seem like luxury.

Our newest fleabag is around 2... a rescue we got the week before Christmas. Meet Noëlle. Just under 40 lbs.

She has taken to these for those times when we're asleep and she needs a pee break... we are wondering if her previous owner house trained her with them since she knew how to use them: https://www.chewy.com/frisco-large-eco-conscious-dog/dp/253956

Before opening the thread, and having only the title to go by, I was going to suggest a BFH.

Then I opened it...

On a different note, have you tried a long walk or play session in the evening to wear you both out?

Since it is a recent thing and she looks like an old doggy, get her to the vet.
It could be a medical thing.

Also, it's an old dog, you need to take care of her, quit yer whining.. or get a fish next time..
