Olympics 2022

I'm watching an opening round of women's hockey between Canada v Switzerland. Canada is pretty much having their way. If you like ice hockey you should check these ladies out, they can flat out play.

NBC is of course squeezing in ads at every possible moment.

I like hockey and wish the best for the athletes. But, I’m sitting this Olympics out.

sc_rufctr 02-03-2022 12:51 AM

The opening ceremony is tomorrow. (4 February 2022)

I wish the athletes well but I don't know if I'll watch it. EDIT: (Political comment removed. I apologize Mr Butt).

My brother is on the IOC and in Beijing for the Olympics. I’ll have to ask him what’s it’s like. He’s been to every Winter Olympics since Lake Placid in 1980.

I saw the miracle on ice awesome memory. The fact the nobody is boycotting these olympics drives me nuts. I guess money trumps a bio weapon attack.

I'm leaning to the "Not One Minute" side on this one. I support the athletes and wish them well, but the complete lack of responsibility taken for the Kung Flu by the CCP has p1ssed me off. Why reward them by watching as though nothing has happened? And, why watch NBC's thousands of revenue producing commercials?
Nope, I will watch World Cup for my competitive skiing fix.

flatbutt 02-03-2022 05:42 AM

you guys do you I'll do me. Right the USA women's hockey team is dominating Finland 4-0 going into the third. BTW the stands are empty.

Cairo94507 02-03-2022 06:08 AM

I am not watching anything to do with China. I believe they singlehandedly took the US economy down several rungs, not to mention causing the death of countless US citizens by lying about COVID. What did our president do? Nothing.

When will snow ball fights be in the Winter Olympics?

How about making snow angels?

When the best USA women speed skaters are from Florida, something is wrong.

Look out for NZ's Zoi Sadowski. She's a champion snowboarder and totally gorgeous.

Not one minute...

Deschodt 02-03-2022 10:06 AM

I was totally unaware... I spotted curling on a restaurant TV, laughed as I always do that it is an olympic sport, and forgot about the games again... Last time I looked it was more X-games than olympics to me.. Getting old I guess. It's fine.

craigster59 02-03-2022 11:43 AM

Are you kidding? And miss history being made when the first "Non Binary" Winter Games athlete steps onto the ice? I am sooo there!

stevej37 02-03-2022 11:45 AM

I have heard next to nothing about the Olympics.
Prob because of streaming.

Certainly you realize it is going to be running 9:1 against watching any of this

There are no spectators and none of the athletes were allowed to bring any family or friends. If I were an olympic athlete, it would be quite difficult to participate in these games. I can't say for sure, but I don't think I would go, even considering that you would have spent your entire life training for it

Beijing 2022
Fake snow, real genocide

A930Rocket 02-03-2022 05:30 PM

I couldn’t tell you the last time I watched the Olympics.

Shaun @ Tru6 02-03-2022 05:45 PM

Watching the Olympics was a big deal in our family in the 70s and 80s. Great memories of all of us watching TV together.

Yes! More risk of death, fewer sparkles and judges.

Bring back barrel jumping and skijoring.

Curling stays of course, 'cause someone has to bring the beer....

Sooner or later 02-04-2022 04:12 AM

Watched the moguls qualification runs.

I could teach them a thing or two. :)
