An opportunity for our Stijn

I know he's always had a secret yearning for one...

Looks like a nice car...as long as it was kept out of the salt!

Ad claims it was never driven in snow, stored winters. Notice it has the optional HID lights.

One tip though...don't plan on using the cup holders for coffee containers. That shift lever is connected to a 5 speed Tremec.

Actually, I've found mine to be a well balanced driver. Does everything well, nothing spectacular. I was just ribbing Stijn. Don't think he liked it when I posted 2 Car & Driver test pieces giving performance specs that had the Bullitt Mustang beating a 2007 Cayman S in the quarter...

Paul, did you forget you already did this exact joke, 3 times before?

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/search.php?searchid=23777913

Might be time to get your geriatric to check your memory function
You might be getting to a point where stuff goes missing

Or do you think a joke gets funnier when repeated enough?

It's a bit sad to see really...

I like it. Might make a nice weekend toy that you don’t see every day. And not crazy expensive. Got me thinking Paul.

But it would be sacrilege to buy a car in the snow belt while living in the Southeast. I know he said it’s never seen snow, but I’ll bet it’s seen salt.

Was it funny the first time? Because I'm missing something.

Maybe grumpy-gus's reaction is the funny part?

Could be. I'd never buy a used car sight unseen. But you're right about not seen every day. Less than 7,000 '08-'09 Bullitts made. Only Bullitts came in that shade of green,
This one looks nice in the pics, but I'd want to see it on a lift. Also, it's not easy to find one that hasn't been modded. Yep, lots of bang for the buck. And best of all? It'll beat a 2007 Cayman S in the quarter.

I don't see anybody grumpy really, it's just not very innovative to repeat the same thing over and over again. If he thinks this raises my blood pressure even one decimal point, well, thats just not happening.

Me responding to it, it really is not a confirmation that "my chain has been rattled" , i reply to all kinds of nonsense.. I'm in IT, i sit behind a computer all day, more often then not i'm bored. his repeat joke doesn't do anything to fix the bore.
Anybody who repeats the same boring joke over and over, we call that a dullard (unimaginative) around here.

Paul is nothing if not consistent. He has told the same 3 or 4 dull stories for as long as I've been here.

I think Paul is on to something. He’s been a consistent voice in support of what may be the best buy in hobby cars in a long time. Prices of air cooled Porsche’s are out of control, along with most anything “vintage” that’s in a good state of nick. Here we have a limited production, V8 powered, 3 pedaled toy that is reasonably affordable for regular people.

2 years ago, I sold my 1985.5 Porsche 944, and bought a 2013 Mustang...I have never looked back, the Ford is so much quieter, more comfortable, fuel efficient, and fast.

Love to have a Bullitt, but it is honestly twice the price of what my "Stang" was.

Well, maybe the forum should cater to that.
And give y'alls a place to hang out

Obviously a new main section is needed, since it's not about Porsches, not about BMW, they aren't european cars, and it's not limited to any region.. Also it's very much a specific topic that recurs over and over again, so it's not off topic nor misc
Can do sub sections in there

I thought I'd heard Paul had bought a Mustang at one time.

There are pretty much no cars from 1985 that can compare to enthusiasts cars from 2013. 28 years of evolution of cars is huge. It is like comparing a 1985 Computer to a 2013 computer. Just not a fair comparison.

My 1985 911 has 182,000 miles, and I plan to add just under 5,000 miles this summer when I drive out to eastern Pennsylvania and back while visiting civil war sites. And it is a car worth three times what I paid for it. I am not sure I would try that trip in a 2013 Mustang with those miles.

yep, when i moved back to belgium i got a 2008 bmw118D company car, RWD 136bhp and about 300nm torque and a fuel card paid by the boss
There was no point in keeping my 88 944S, and pay silly taxes and fuel on it as just a weekend car it felt a little bit rawer as it revved much higher..
But there was nothing the 944S could do that the 118D didn't do better, apart from the Vmax on the autobahn, but that really was the only thing...Handling, the BMW was just as good

And that was just an entry level diesel BMW 1 series

Obviously next boss gave me a Merc FWD A series automatic, which was a boring little chitbox. By then I had bought my house, paid off 9 years and a Porsche was in order
At that point the choice between a 25-30 year old 944S or S2 vs a 10 year old Cayman, at pretty much similar pricepoint was a no brainer, always get the newest one you can afford. and 6 banger is more fun then a 4 banger. song vs noise
