There are a fair number of pretty great wagons that have been made over the years. A sadistic part of me would love an Allroad 4.2 but their tendency to be winter beaters, air suspension issues and cam chain tensioner location keep me from searching in earnest. I'm really wanting the used car bubble to burst and W213 AMG E63S wagon prices to fall.

Those complaining about rust. I guarantee it's not as bad as people are thinking. We have three Volvo's, an 07 S60 at 110K miles, and 08 C30 with 120k miles and a 15 V60 with 90K miles. All of them have seen every winter in Michigan with the V60 having spent it's first four years in Buffalo New York. Volvo know their **** when speccing corrosion resistance on both the body and fasteners. I've never had an issue getting parts of, including having changed a couple of suspension arms due to worn bushings. Note, the Focus and Mazda 3 are both on the same basic platform as the C30, and the non Volvo versions rust like any other car. Volvo are good at not rusting.

The current price though with three days to go. WOW

Hmm, slush box, but the interior would help me forget the exterior is (blech) red.

https://phoenix.craigslist.org/cph/cto/d/phoenix-volvo-v70r-awd-turbo-wagon/7444751574.html

Same year, 5x the miles tho, . But only half the current bid of the BAT one.

This sibling didn't get the same "not prone to rust" memo some fellas are reading. Volvos may fare better than some others but salt/H2O + steel = nothing good.

https://youtu.be/Sl5L2LsAlj8

If I'm going to pay BAT money to then go through the trouble and expense of shipping, fundamentals such as body corrosion aren't negotiable. There are really nice V70 R examples out there which have not been brined.

Not disagreeing but.......will wait for you to post any classified or auction with one for us to review.

Those that I have posted have ALL been manual transmission wagons (except for that one 2 door GT) - so you must start there.

Go.......

Even with the automatic, I'd rather have the high mileage one without Mi corrosion rather than deal with corrosion we all know it has.

Sure, it may not be as bad as some think, but I'm sure it worse than others believe.

Back in those days a turbo was a point of failure. They seem to have worked out the bugs by now.

Synthetic oils and water cooled turbos helped lots.

Tell you what....people are putting their Volvos on B.A.T. like there's no tomorrow right now.

There's another nice one up right now ( see Macroni's post & link above) I'll post a thread on later.....really nice....as in no rust or corrosion-nice.....

While living on the mesa in Santa Barbara, I bought one for the ex....she didn't wanna drive the Suburban no mas. The cool car among the soccer moms was the sporty Vulva.....

I told her after driving up the hill from the city in the valley to idle the engine the drive for a few minutes to cool the oil in the turbo.....also when going down to the city DOWNFOOKING shift. Went thru two turbos, and three sets of brakes. Stoopid twit. Oh yeah the front end bushings are crap......most problematic vehicle I ever owned. Got rid of the Vulva and the blonde ricky tick.

What a POS. It had 50K on it and she drove it like bus.....lugging and not shifting and riding the brakes down the hill sometimes three times a day.....I hated that POS.

RUNAWAY!!!!
