My dog
Just thought I'd like to share some pictures of my dog. She's gonna be 10 years old come this august, I've owned her since she was 8 weeks. My parents said no more dogs after her, so I'm trying to take as many pictures as possible. I cant wait until I move into a house to finally own my own dog. Anyways, full golden retriever.

Looks like a happy pup! Lots of love in those eyes, huh?

I absolutely love my 2 dogs and cat, and right now I don't know what I would do without them...

My two dogs love going for rides in my driving machine. I can't grab my keys w/o them bugging me for a ride. I even named my driving machine after a dog we used to have years ago. Aside from the two dogs, we have three cats, fish, a ferret, and two horses.

I heard that dog owners generally have lower blood pressure and live longer. Man's best friend..
I've had over a dozen dogs in my life and my current one is a chiuhahua.. you know. Yo Quiero Taco Bell doggie.. haha No picture of him handy at the moment so the reference to the fast food chain will have to do. |
Here's my baby. She will be six in June. She is about three in this picture:

Island...great doggy action shots.
Our Sharpei are 3 1/2 and almost 4 and the bulldog is 2 1/2. Most Sharpei don't live as long as other breeds (small gene pool when they came over from China). 3 of our past Sharpei only lived to 4 and 4 1/2. But I love those fat stocky wrinkly dogs so if (when) we ever get another one...hopefully the puppy's blood line has dogs that have lived longer.l |
island, nice pics, nice dog, and nice place to live. What kind of camera did you use? Must have a fast shutter speed. My Ricoh could not take pictures of a moving dog.

Thanks!
The camera is a Minolta Dimage 7i. The fact that it's fast was the big selling point. . .. fast lens, fast shutter speed(1/4000), fast between shots(7 frames/second), and fast turn-on time. My first digi was a little Canon A50 (painfully slow). It would take an eternity to boot-up, then you had to hold a button to get it to zoom. . .bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, then press the shutter button, continue to hold the camera on the shot, wait for it to figure out the focus, and then it would take the picture. Then, once you took a picture, you had to wait for it to process before you could take another. (maddening) I missed a lot of great shots. Anyway, the dog, since he's a mutt I had to take a lot of shots to show his personallity. He's a crack-up. Also, he's got this funny confliction going on. Being part pointer and part boarder collie, when he sees birds he's not sure what to do. . .he stops and points, then goes into his crouch and run herding mode. He attracts crowds when he's working the flocks of seagulls at the big ocean beachs. Here he is a few hours ago trying to herd some geese . . . he still needs to hone those water manuvers. ;) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...3 PICT0032.jpg |
Dogs are cool. They always are happy to see you.....unlike growing children. Here is pics of my dog Olivia who I adopted at the shelter....very sweet and protective of other pets. And Sitka....very impatient.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/Olivia 2.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/Sitka.jpg

Here's one of her outside in the backyard of the house. She's developed an affinity for eating bamboo leaves that we have in the yard. She just walks up to the shoots and starts to eat the leaves. We call her a panda bear. Anyways, here's another shot

This is my dog, Romeo, 3 yr. old long-hair German Shepard. He likes to surf Pelican occasionally, mostly wondering what I spend so much time looking at:

This is Morgan, who is always ready to jump into any car w me, and especially likes the 911 where he can either sit on the back shelf against the warm engine, or curl up on the passenger seat. I do get concerned about emergency stops, ie a panic stop, and a flying dog (in wagons or the p car; i investigated a dog seatbelt, but it seemed designed to break their necks and chest). Also, as a strategy in a recent thunderstorm...I visited a friend about 40 miles away, keeping it revved high, and the original rarely used by me Blaupunkt tape cassette with a disc player wired in through the tape opening at full blast. The combination of engine noise and stereolab, kept my hound happy. |
