One of the things that gets under my skin about my ISP is they use "whitelist" where if a message comes from someone not in my contact list or that I didn't first send an email to, it goes in the spam folder. From the spam folder I can whitelist the sender. But seeing how some of you guys have had to change your email address, I think I'm okay with it now.

I already disconnected our land-line due to non-stop robo-calls despite enrolling in "nomorobo". This has gotten out of hand.

80 a month for just the lines??

I mean, I have free lines..5 euro for the simcard setup, then nothing per month.
reachable in the entire EU for free.. I only pay what I call, and even then it's rarely more then 10 euros a month
I pay 5 a month for 2GB data on top of that.. that's all

What do you get for the 160/80 a month??!?!

The vast majority of my incoming calls are from my buddy Scam Likely. He rarely leaves a voicemail. When the call is not coming from Mr. Likely but is also not one of my Contacts, I give the caller an opportunity to leave a voicemail. They rarely do.

I have my phone, my wife's phone and one for my MIL, three different physical phones. We have roll over minutes for calls and have never even been close to the limit, so minutes roll over each month, and the same for data, and all the minutes and data are shared between the three of us. I pay $120 per month and that covers all 50 states.

We have never been close to running over the limit.

My business partner is on his phone all the time. He has unlimited data and talk, and it is just over $100 per month. He has hit 20 GB of data in a month when is travels a lot. When he recently went to Africa to walk up Mt. Kilimanjaro he had to add on a package for Africa calls. I don't know what that cost him, but not much. Coverage in Africa is kinda spotty.

I've lived in Germany and can tell you that the US service is much more expensive. I recall everyone having cell phones in Europe well before it was remotely affordable in the US. When cell service started here we had areas we could call with minute limitations per month. You went outside of your area there was a roaming charge the hurt a bit.

Apples to oranges but when I lived in Germany I could call back to US on land line for about 2 or 3 cents per minute. My family was paying multiple dollars per minute to call me from the US.

I'm on T Mobile (with military discount) at $25 per line per month, with unlimited data, free Netflix and Paramount+.
