Kubota tractor value help needed
My Wife's friend's Father passed away recently and now she is trying to liquidate his estate. I've been able to help with estimating furniture and tools but he also had a toy train collection and a Kubota B7800.
It seems to be in decent condition, has the backhoe attachment and only 416 hours. I guess he used it on his rural property up in Tehachapi. Here's some pics. She only needs a rough ballpark. She is also in the process of divorcing her husband so I'm thinking she's looking for a quick sale to get this whole ordeal behind her. TIA. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

What kind of train set, if I may ask...
That tractor is cool. Is it diesel or gas?

I saw one that was 2007, 850 hours and no backhoe for $17k. I think it was manufactured 2003-2008 for this model.

What?

That's really low hours. Should be able to get top dollar for it all day, every day.

October 2021, a B7800 with 500 hours sold for$11,183. It did not have the backhoe attachment and it was a 2wd tractor. Yours appears to be 4wd. I'd say if it is hydrostat drive and has 4 wheel drive that I'd probably list it at around $18,000 in today's market as long as the tires are all in good shape and everything works as it should.
Those little 30hp tractors are a hot commodity.

Found this via Google:
https://www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/003/3/8/3386-kubota-b7800.html Looks like it's 4-cyl diesel, 1.5L, 2003-2008.

BTW, you might consider calling Pioneer (the sticker on the boom) and seeing what they'd give you for it. If they're like most dealers, they're looking for inventory and will pay a premium to get it. If nothing else they should be able to give you a good current market value for it and might even sell it for you on consignment.
You mention a "quick sale" due to her current marital situation. $16,500 and it should be gone in a hot second.

I was hoping you'd see this Thread Cabby.
I would love to have that tractor, Craig: So will the rest of the world ![]() Edit: The only thing that would bother me, and I am nit-picking, is I don't see a lot of grease around the equipment pivot points. My equipment looks like it has been in the movie 'Grease'.

I have just about the same tractor (earlier model) That one is worth at least $20k with all it has and low hours. Should sell fast, as they are hard to get the new ones now.

I guess he split his time between the property in Tehachapi and his house in San Diego so I don't think he was using the tractor all that much. I've passed on the info (Thanks Nick!) and have asked to see some pics of the trains which I guess are in San Diego.
Thanks to all!

I know someone that also might be interested in the train collection - depending on the gauge.

I live in San Diego County and lived in Tehachapi as a kid. Is it in San Diego? I'd listen to Nick that it could go anywhere from $16K up to $20K. If if's in S.D., I might be interested in it. I already have an L frame Kubota a few years older with about 350 more hours on it, but I don't have a backhoe. If it's in San Diego County, PM me & I'd be happy to look into it.

Something to keep in mind too, these older tractors can sometimes have a near cult like following. That thing being around 14 years old, it could have that kind of status. In searching for like kind tractors, there were very few results and I don't recall seeing any with the backhoe attachment. But the backhoe attachment seems to be around a $1,500-$2000 used item. You also need to add the "It's 2022" markup so you should shoot for 24K

Good call. They'll have the best insight into local market value. If you want to know how I came up with the number I did, Google Kubota B7800 for sale. The first option will be from Tractorhouse.com. When you get to the listing page, look on the left side of the page, you'll have sort options. The first option is listing type and auction results. Click that and select auction results. You can sort by the date of the auction but there weren't that many sold so it wasn't hard to scroll through. Auction values have gotten even stronger than they were in Oct 2021 and the beauty here is, as a private sale you typically don't have to charge sales tax. It's normally up to the buyer to claim it as use tax. But I don't know how Cali does private party sales.
