Does anyone still use CB radios?

And by "anyone," I mean anyone, not necessarily people reading this. Do truckers still use them?

I just acquired one in a car I bought and not sure if I should keep it as a back-up for my RV, (which already has one). I don't know how to use one and I don't have a handle, though several porn references come to mind. Maybe "Dirty Sanchez," though I'm sure that one is already taken.

Ok, thanks. I'll have to listen in on some chatter to see what that is all about.

20 years ago when I bought my 911 in Columbus, OH, we drove down to get it and trailer it home.

Somewhere in Ohio, we bought a $25 CB at a truck stop. We listened to the jibba jabba all the way home.

Let’s turn this thread into a ‘Suggest a CB Handle for speeder Thread’…

My vote is for ‘Bo Peep’. No reason.

I use Waze for navigation. Kind of reminds me of having a CB-type of heads up ahead.

Convoy is comical. I remember the CB song from the 70's

So, let's see.....in Chicago and needing to pay tolls per the song "We crashed the gate doing 98, I says, let them truckers roll, 10-4".

I hope he scarfed enough coin from this tune to retire.

I'm working on a 78 Lincoln Continental. It's got a factory CB in it.

I use a CB every day. Many truckers still do. If there’s a slowdown on the interstate I go to channel 19 to see what’s up. Very helpful.

My dad's 66 911 had a CB in it.

Come to think of it, he never had the radio on, even once. It was either CB or flat 6.

Someone with worse taste than I drilled four holes in a 65 MGB and mounted and CB antenna on it.

I bought the car circa 1991.

Never did find someone to weld that up.

JC Penney 23 channel rig, then upgraded to JCP refurbed 23 channel SSB. Ran a Shure power mike with a Starduster antenna about 50ft up!
