MiG Welder for $700
Anyone have any suggestions for a good Mig welder for $700 or less? Looking to use to patch some panels on a couple cars.
Thanks. |

Get something with gas even if it's 110V.
Good? $750 for the best 220V Lincoln MIG at Home depot. $1,300 for a comparable Miller at a dedicated welding store.

Just got a lincoln handy mig from home depot. Does flux or gas. 110v for the garage. Even after buying a tank and gas, still well under $700. Welding patches on an old e30

I've got a like new Lincoln 175 Pro Mig w/ cart I've been trying to sell for $500. But I'm in So Cal and it's 220v.
Looking on "Offer Up" there seems to be a few 110v setups for $350-450.

I have an old Lincoln Weld Pack 110 set up with the gas kit and a small bottle. Really all you need for sheet metal. I bought it new 20 years ago. I have welded roll bars, fencing, oil cooler mounts and other larger things with it too. Not sure the equivalent, but IMHO you can't go wrong with the Lincoln hobby models.

Hobart is a sister division of Miller . Similar features and quality but less money . I have the Hobart 130 which is a 110 volt mig . I have used it to weld flares on a Porsche 914 to every day projects.
Also don't rule out buying used , there are deals out there from guys that have finished projects or just need the money. Visit local welding retailers, the ones that also sell the gas . You need the gas anyway and they may have a deal on new or used . |

You'd be surprised at what you can find at estate sales. Especially those that have a lot of tools.
Check your local area. www.estatesales.net

My boss who's an ex-welder is happy with his harbor freight mig welder.

I have been very happy with the Eastwood 135. 110 volts and great for panel and rust work. Have done a couple of 911’s with no issues. Got a cart from Harbor and using gas.
