Not my favorite color, but I think it’s a cool looking car.

The F Type is a gorgeous car and so sexy! I always wanted one so I could get F-THIS for my plates.

L8Brakr 04-02-2022 02:42 PM

It must of been reliable for the PO's to run up that kind of mileage. Obviously didn't sit around in a shop for any extended periods of time. If you can get your price, I say go for it.

That said.......just like the market......Past performance should not be considered when forecasting future returns.

So, it was a pretty car. It's solid 1-2 footer.

Kind of odd, it showed use but not age if that makes sense.

But, it'd been smoked in. It wasn't knock you out right away overpowering rather something a former smoker would pick up on right away.

That's a hard no for me at virtually any price. Free would be about the only way I'd ever own a car that's been smoked in.

The other issue, I would have difficult time driving it. It's a tall persons car and I'm only 5'8". The way the seat needed to be set to see out of it just made for weird ergonomics.

The bigger issue, you can't see out of it. The rearview mirror may as well not exist because the rear glass is so small. It's like looking out a ships portal. The rest of the glass was not much better, high waistline on a squat car and even forward visibility felt limited.

It's roomy but felt a bit claustrophobic.

End of day, gorgeous car but I'd not enjoy the experience.

Agree. I was never a heavy smoker and I haven't had a cigarette in a decade but I am very attuned to the smell.

I stopped even going inside the disabled vet I help drive around. He understands.

The dealer had several Maseratis.

A whole warehouse full of high end stuff even a very very nice R8. Easily 200+ cars. He had a nice Panamera that caught my eye and I may mull over.

Was a cool set up, all the cars were unlocked, had their keys in them and we were told "sure, go check out anything you want and feel free to fire them up". The owners twin 10yr old boys went around with us and seemed to know every car in detail telling us the specs, popping hoods for us. Was neat to see their enthusiasm.

My buddy did check out one of the Maseratis and have to say we were less than impressed by it. Car only had 17k on it but the interior was "degrading". Rubber trim around the vents and switches had developed that weird sticky feel like left over tape residue. Streaks in the door card leather. Clunky switches. It's tike they tried to make it high end but used low end materials so it cheapened the overall impression.

Still, was a nice way to kill some time on a lazy Saturday.

Just remembered something I found really odd about the F Type.

It seemed there was no AC position in the ignition system.

Car has a fob and no obvious spot for a physical key.

Every other fob car I've ever been in will give you the equivalent of AC by default.

This thing was either motor running or not, seemed no obvious way to get any interior power if the motor wasn't running.

Not sure if that's just the way they are which would be a really bizarre choice or if this particular car had an issue.

sc_rufctr 04-03-2022 07:23 AM

I gotta say I'd be tempted by this. ;)

I think if you hit the ignition button without depressing the brake, you’ll be in accessory mode.

svandamme 04-03-2022 10:10 AM

I think that's standard on all cars without a key to insert?
just push start if you want the turn on the car without starting the engine?
if it's an auto , don't press brake
if a manual, don't clutch in

Every time I see threads like this, I'm so grateful to have acquired my Volvo 5 speed for only $6k.

It's such an amazing vehicle on so many levels it's ridiculous.

There’s so much great stuff out there, all you have to do is take care of it

911boost 04-03-2022 12:58 PM

Yeah the sticky buttons is a big issue for F cars, so I am not surprised by that.

Sounds like a really cool place.

Tervuren 04-03-2022 02:58 PM

Hit the start button without the brake depressed and the electronics power up without the motor starting.

I'm more than six years into into having bought a six year old big cat.
Which doing the math, a 2016 in 2022 would be the same situation.

Based on cars of people I know the Panamera holds up well.
Maserati's do not.
