Old Men and earrings....

Maybe I am just too old (56) or too old school but I think men over 40, and definately over 50 look ridiculous with earrings. I don't care for jewelry in the first place, and don't ever wear any other than a wedding ring. What do you think about this?

Absoloutely agree. Jewelry on men is a conceit that says much, none of it good, IMO. Piercings, unless you are Keef, ridiculous.

What I am finding err, disturbing at present is the increasing prevelence of +40 men who seem to think they look buff, hip or happeneing when they (i assume) have all their body hair waxed off, and then walk about in singlets and shorts to adevrtise the fact. Must drive the ladies crazy.

Definitely. A dubious way of trying to compensate for something else.

Earrings are for ladies, tatoos are for men (if at all).

Past the age of 30, men should only accessorize with a watch, a wedding band (if married) and their dignity. Class rings are an exception but only if it is from a service academy.

And while on the subject...nix the "dork knobs" (those little pony tails a lot of geezers sport).

A boomer myself (48) in the 80's I wore earings, (yes two) and had the bling watch and bracelets. My hair was past my shoulders and frequently in a ponytail. BUT that time and style has long passed.

Today's look = no piercings, bling and short cropped hair. I think that is the current style for men our age.

No tats, no piercings, short buzzed hair and likin' it that way. I just need to keep at the "getting back in shape" thing and I guess I'll be happy with myself.

My only jewelry is a wedding band and occasionally my Blue Angels Citizen watch. Beyond that seems kinda' guido to me. Tats are just retarded, IMHO. I've never heard a good reason for getting one. Especially today - they're COMPLETELY cliche. "Oh yea, I got a tattoo so I could express my individuality". Yeah, like everyone else. Whatever. You look like a criminal, jackass.

Piercings on guys? Don't understand it at all. Hell, I guess I don't much understand it on women either when I think about it. . . We have some weird notions of beauty in our culture I suppose. We're "taught" and "conditioned" to think that earrings on girls looks good, which I guess to some degree it does. I guess I'm conditioned.

Agreed earrings on 40+ males looks horrible! What’s that saying “Right ear buccaneer, left ear ??”
Now Boobies in an avatar! I’m all over that

I had 2 piercings in my younger days, long hair and earrings until around '87, and then quit wearing them and cut my hair a little shorter.

Now it's no earrings, no tattoos, a fake Panerai watch (no rings) and shortcut hair. Until last weekend, wanted a cut for Easter and borrowed my neighbors clippers. I'd had a few beers and boy, did I f*ck up. Ended up having to shave close like a "gangbanger". Like I don't have enough of a "Charlie Brown" head as it is, the guys at work have been just brutal.
