I was talking to a few people, who told me that the 30 round Glock mags were prone to jams. Thank goodness he did not have regular G-17 mags, or there would have been a hundred dead people. |
15 people were shot in NYC Tuesday night (4 dead) - that was not part of the subway shooting.
No outrage, just another day in NYC, part and parcel of living in the city. BUT - this subway shooting was unacceptable. Our government and police forces fail us all. Then factor in this shooter was on the FBI watch list. Total and complete failure. No wonder my town is being inundated with folks from NYC. I totally understand their fear. I grew up just outside NYC, (Queens) my first dead body observed was in Hells Kitchen, I was riding in my dads delivery truck one summer, we were driving down the road to a delivery, there was a dead guy on the sidewalk blood everywhere. My dad tried to make light of the moment and said, "Welcome to Hells Kitchen" as I watched people step over the blood and ignore a dead person on the sidewalk. Mind blown at 14 years old. I now understand and I am happy to be very far from there. Glad they caught the fat man, ironically eating at McDonalds. You cannot make this stuff up. |

Glad you're far away and happy! |
Now I heard tonight the guy called Crimestoppers and turned himself in!
Is that true? |
He's been arrested and charged but according to this he did not turn himself in.

According to reports this is the gun that was used. Note the "stove pipe" circled in red.
(Screen shot from a YouTube video) Apparently an extended 30 round mag can cause this issue. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1649905563.jpg |
Initially reported to be a 5'5" 170# black man, orange vest, subsequently reported in the NY Post and on CNN as a 5'5" 170# man, then they caught him, and showed photos.
I hope it is a "ghost gun", that would be perfect. |
You think the gun was recovered and nobody cleared it?

Note someone has tried to clean the area of the serial number. Maybe that was done by the police for the photo? Or maybe it was done by (not even sure what to call someone who would do something like this) for some unknown reason. I would assume normal procedure would be to clear the gun before placing it in an evidence bag. |

I think he was a lot taller than 5 foot five, also. Well, hey, they eventually got the orange vest right. Orange! Not green!
But it’s a good thing they got the description and pictures out, that’s how he got spotted by the civilian and caught. Sometimes they withhold part of the description, or the pictures, for political reasons and that’s the last thing you need to do when you’re trying to find somebody. |

NYSDOT requires lime green vests with orange contrast and yellow reflective stripes ( a guy was killed at night.. moving a traffic pattern, and the investigation determined the guy was mistaken for an orange traffic barrel) MTA is orange with reflective accents and only breakaway closures..no zippers... NYSDOT approved vest http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1649970832.jpg I don't have a MTA vest available to show the differences [/hijack] |
|
I was pointing out the why there are different colored vests...
I'd do a double take seeing a guy like that coming through a turnstile...Most MTA guys use minimal PPE.. and often have different access to the system.. And few people would kit up like that on the way to work... |
Yeah, he doesn’t seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed. Thank God for that.
|
That dude is closer to being white than he is to 170 lbs... glad the sick POS is off the street.
