Well, I'm sad to see you letting it go, even if you don't drive that much, they are steadily appreciating........

Whew! For quite a spell, I had to work up the nerve to open this. Was afraid it was about having to put down a loved pet.

I have considered selling my RS and going back to an 80's 911, my first one. I know I will never buy another one like what I have so that is keeping me from selling it.

Oh, and every time I drive it I decide not to sell. Winter is tough because they do just sit a lot.

Good luck, its just a car.

When I sold my 930, I wasn’t driving it that much, but I hated to see it go. I was in the building industry and times were tough, so I had to do what I had to do.

Here’s how I upload pictures from my iPhone.

Go to advanced.

Click on “click here to upload a photo”

Click on the pop-up screen and then “Photo library”.

Click the picture you want and down at the bottom click “show selected”.

Click “actual size”.

You’ll see a pop-up with different sizes. Select the one under 5MB.

Then click “add” at the top.

I opened this expecting it to be about a dog with cancer or something.

I don't drive mine much but I can't see selling her. I am retiring at the end of May, which opens up a whole new world of possibilities.

I don't think $70K is too much to ask for a low miles '84 911, but it might be easier to sell if it were a coupe. Just be sure you really will not want a 911 ever again.

Here’s a link to my marketplace listing
Just a suggestion to help you sell it. I'd get that driver's seat cushion fixed. No one I know wants to spend $70k and sit on something that looks like that.
YMMV. I can drive a car that looks like crap on the outside but it has to be nice inside or I won't spend time in it. As long as the car is mechanically sound and nice on the inside I could care less what people think about the outside looks.

Hey Justin, how is it going on FB? I listed my Cab on Marketplace, Porsche 911 Buy Sell and Porsche 911 for sale.

After looking at your ad, I'd suggest a bit more history on the car. Add to the story a bit.

Here's my listing. I received a lot of compliments on the listing because of how thorough I was.

If you haven't had it happen already, you're gonna get lit up with dealers offering a "quick sale"... I started my ad with "no dealers please" and still had dealers contact me offering significantly less than my asking price.

I watched a few cars on BAT that didn't meet reserve because the seller didn't put the effort into putting the car in the best position to sell. A paint correction to get that black paint shining like a new dime and fixing the driver's seat as Scott mentioned would be good steps and neither would cost much. Also, a H.F leak down tester can pay dividends. 1 hour spent getting those leak down numbers can pay off.

Good luck, Nick. I see that you're pending. THat seems like a pretty good deal on your car, although I'm sure a lot of folks may shy away from a car that's had so much done, but hey, 35 years and likely 200k+ miles...

I wish I still had my old '88, but at the time, it was the right thing to do (sell) which I don't regret. The old cars really had that je ne sais quoi. I think it's what we usually call soul. I love my 987, it's a great car all around, but it doesn't have the same qualities as my old '88.

There really is no substitute.

Some in the marketplace discussion here and on FB Marketplace said I should have put it on BAT with all the work that I've done to the car. But it's still a branded title car (Not Actual Miles) which doesn't help.

I figure I'm getting rid of a vehicle I don't use and I'm going to buy one that will get used daily. Will the vehicle I buy be in icon or a childhood dream? Nope.. but it'll get used and that's the most important thing for me. My 911 doesn't get out to play much and it's in the way pretty much all winter long.
