Van Halen fans, this is as good a tribute gets.
If you really, really know your VH, like every second of the first album, the tone, the groove, the chops, etc, these guys just beyond bring it. I've seen the Atomic Punks plenty of times and, while they're great, this is on another level.

Don't have time to listen to the entire thing right now, so went straight to Eruption.
Damn! _

Singer even sounds like David Lee Roth
My old neighbor send me this. He use to play in a band that did many Van Halen songs. This guitar player is good. Check it out |

Back in the 1980s a friend of mine lived a block from a roller rink and got a job there as the DJ. The management figured out if they had C&W night on Tuesdays, the cowboy fans would come out. They had a R&B night, and jazz night. Friday nights were for the Pop music and mostly rock and roll and that was the biggest night. He had funny stories how the different groups of customers had totally different tastes in the concession stand.
Anyway, he was sick of the job and turned in his notice and on his last day it was a Jazz night and the floor was full of skaters all enjoying the Jazz. He slipped in Eruption and he said the skaters all just stopped, and all of them were looking at him like he had lost his mind. The manager came running up the stairs and killed the music, and apologized to the customers, and threw the kid out on the spot. He said the look on the faces of the skaters is still something that makes him giggle.

Yeah, I've logged some serious hours (and bad grades for it) learning most of the VH catalogue. It's one of those lifetime pursuits you'll just never totally perfect, which is what keeps it interesting. That whole first album shreds, but I'm the One really stands out. There is just no way to nail that song the way Ed did. The right hand shuffle and how he locks in with Al is so cool.
