The last poison ivy vine we had was about 3" in diameter. I cut a 6" chunk out of it and coated the opened wound with salt. That was the last of it.

Then how did you get rid of the vine? From what I've read even dead poison ivy still has urushiol oil and can get you after it's old and brown.

After a year or so I just pulled the dead vine out of the tree. I had long sleeves and washed up with cold water and a bit of clorox. I am very sensitive to poison ivy and poison oak.

Yep, I've got Tecnu and "Ivy-X" which is a lotion that you're supposed to put on before you're around Poison Ivy.

I have found GoJo works just as well as Tecnu and is a whole lot cheaper. Plus I have plenty of it for clean up after working on the car.
