Concerts I have seen in my 77 years! Repeat Post?
I started downloading videos off YouTube a couple years ago when I had my radiation treatment for the cancer I had removed from the right side of my face and putting them together to make 2 to 3 hours long movies. I have music from most all parts of the globe, especially I like the Asian instruments as they remind me of store background music in Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, ETC. I have been looking in the past few months for videos of many of the concerts I went to when in the Navy and not surprising most are on their website such as the 1970 Led Zepplin concert I saw in Hampton Roads VA which made my ears ring for 3 or 4 days! When I first went to the atomic training site in New York I dated a ballerina for about 6 months so I went to several ballets (for free!). Here's a list as best I can remember in no particular order:
- Sha Na Na - Frankie Valle and the 4 Seasons - Rare Earth - Iron Butterfly - Led Zepplin - Jimmi Hendrix and Stephen Stills playing JAZZ and the Purple Hippo in San Fran - Albert King - Albert Collins (2 times) - BB King (4 times) - ZZ Top (3 times) - Eric Clapton (3 times) - Pink Floyd (Jack Murphy Stadium SD) - Beach Boys (2 times) - Jan and Dean (Republican convention SD) - Amboy Dukes - Blind Fath - Buddy Guy - Buck Owens (in his club in Bakersfield) - Sam The Sham - Dion and the Belmonts - DR. John (2 times) - Fats Domino - Jerry Lee Lewis (yes he had his wife with him!) There are probably more but my memory is getting slower these days but I do remember in Subic Bay (Olongopo City PI) that could copy any band that was popular during the years I went there on various ships so all you had to do was find a club that played what you liked I.E. C&W, Hard Rock, Jazz and such. If you have any interesting ones please list them. John |

That is an enviable list! I had a music addiction for some years- played in a bunch of bands and did security at UO 1985-1986 so I saw everything that year.
The Who (2x) Theatre of Sheep (dozens!) Violent Femmes (3x or 4) X several times Black Flag. 3-4x. (Best is I turned off the show in 1986) REM BB King (wow!) I have a pick! Millions of punk shows- some sort of famous John Lee Hooker (maybe on life support? Awful) Neil Young (3x or so) Grateful Dead 2x Bob Dylan (awful 1986) Rolling Stones (amazing 2018ish) Robert Cray Red Hot Chili Peppers (audience of maybe 50) Kenny Rogers (awful- security) Alabama (even worse security) Many many more. Have tinnitus to prove it. |

Can I say I am a little envious of some of those? I am somewhat on the younger side on this site so some of those stopped touring before I was old enough to attend but I sure would have loved to see them. Zepplin would have been top of my list.
That said over the last 5-10 years my hubby and I have gone to quite a few shows and we are heading to a 5 day Rock Fest next week. Although most of the bands are more the speed of the metal thread, some of the headliners will be KISS, Guns and Roses, Papa Roach, Korn, Smashing Pumpkins amongst others. Some over the last few: Rush (son's first concert) Def Leppard Journey Godsmack Shinedown Brooks and Dunn Travis Tritt Charlie Daniels Greta Van Fleet Theory of a Deadman

Memories.....
I saw KISS before they were cool. They were the opening act for Savoy Brown and then Manfred Mann. After KISS had a chance to change clothes, and during the acts that followed, I saw Gene Simmons without costume or makeup. Neil Young did a GREAT show. 1/2 was just neil, acoustic. 1/2 was with the band, electric. John Mayall was another great show. I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd just before the plane crash. The show I wish I had not missed was Joe Cocker and Stevie Ray Vaughan at The Gorge.....just before Stevie's death.

I'll give it a shot.
I didn't include anyone I've seen at the Houston Rodeo since they're the lamest shows possible! In rough order of when I saw them: Johnny Cash KISS (x3) (Wendy O’Williams opened first time!) The Who (x2) Aerosmith Roger Waters (x2) Van Halen (Sammy Hagar)( Bachman Turner Overdrive opened) Billy Joel Stevie Ray Vaughn (x2) Scorpions RATT (with Bon Jovi opening) Boston Robert Cray Roy Orbison Lenny Kravitz Police Peter Gabriel Blue Oyster Cult The Pretenders Fleetwood Mac Big Head Todd and the Monsters Eddie Money Rush Stevie Wonder Paul Simon and Sting Recent veteran’s day concert (Joe Walsh, ZZ Top, Doobie Brothers) Plus tons of small artists and probably a few biggies I forgot (some shows were pretty hazy) EDIT: I have to change the list as I read other's lists (way to go ramonesfreak!) and my memory improves. Not Blue Oyster Cult, I meant Moody Blues B-52's Weezer Bush Jethro Tull

Saw the Oils in concert at the Hard Rock Cafe Orlando in '97, I think it was. Gotta find that ticket stub...
Hands down one of the best concerts I've ever attended.
