Never thought about adding hemp but did a little Internet snooping and look what I found. Around 8 bucks from Amazon and will be here Wed. Thanks, Scott! SmileWavy

Back to your overnight oats.....I had never heard of that so did some digging and found this informative YT vid......gonna give it a try.

Baz, overnight oats can be eaten like regular breakfast oats in a bowl or blended up like a smoothie. I like the blended version. Be prepared for a filling meal that will last. I've been making it for quite a while, & it's one of my favorite things.

1/2 banana (ok if frozen) 25 g unflavored protein, 1 scoop pb fit (powdered lowfat peanut butter), water or grape juice.

Wow.
Some of you guys go all out.
Mine is pretty simple but still fills my belly.
I don't drink coffee so the sugar helps make it to lunch.
If im really hungry, pair it with a handful of pecans, or instant oatmeal with pecans.

I can't bring myself to make a "green smoothy." My usual is very simple: frozen berry mix, milk, and stevia. I also blend my overnight oats into a smoothy: rolled oats, milk, maple syrup, chia seeds, peanut butter, frozen banana slices, & a few ice cubes.

Even with the 75% green, 25% frozen fruit proportions, the sweetness of the fruit is the lingering flavor. Its a great way to have raw greens.

Break a banana into about 7 or 8 pieces, wrap with saran wrap and freeze. Put juice of your choice, OJ, Pineapple/OJ, apple, whatever you like.

Juice and frozen banana blended together, add frozen berries, little 6 oz thing of yogurt, whip it all up and there you go. Apparently far superior to Jamba Juice

Freeze the banana!

Brilliant.

Trust and believe you will be a sad clam if you try to break up the banana after you freeze it. Frozen banana and chocolate malted milk in the blender makes a fine chocolate shake. I prefer immersion mixer. When there are ripe oranges, I drink a lot of juice

I like to put egg whites (pasteurized) and go easy on the protein powder. It makes the smoothie nice and smooth.

I need to do a little more research and experimentation on the green smoothie thing, myself. I have no doubt you can make some that are not only healthy and nutritious, but also tasty.

Years ago, the missus got us on a juicing and smoothie kick. She bought this book which is mostly juices, but also includes smoothies and something else that's very smoothie like but they call it something different.

https://smile.amazon.com/Big-Book-Juices-Natural-Vitality/dp/1844839737/

She'd been into juicing when she was younger and was just throwing the kitchen sink into juices, and they were often not very tasty. What we realized after making a bunch of stuff out of the book was that less is often more (good flavor) when it comes to this sort of thing. The tastier juices and smoothies often had 2-4 ingredients instead of 5-10. THis was especially true of the greener stuff.

We've run the gamut over the years.

In general we often use kefir or yogurt as the liquid base, but try to stick to stuff that's not heavily sweetened. We use frozen fruit or fresh fruit and some ice cubes. I used to toss in some nuts or maybe some flax seed or chia seeds. If you use flax seeds, get them ground. They are pretty hard and may or may not blend very well.

These days, we make a smoothie that's more like a shake. We use coconut milk, frozen banana, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt. It's also good with regular milk, banana, cocoa powder, salt, and a tbs of almond butter. I like it if the almond butter actually tastes like almonds. The non pariel almonds from Cali don't have any almond flavor (like amaretto). We used to buy almonds from Europe, and then grind them into butter. They had much better flavor.

Yep, frozen banana is tough, but great in a smoothie. We use coconut milk or regular milk, but if you use regular milk, then a little almond butter adds some creaminess or something that improves it. A pinch of salt is also good.
