Having trouble getting full throttle on the boat
I’ve had the boat two years now. It’s always been a little annoying that sometimes when I want to go full throttle it can be a problem. The boats plenty fast and it’s rare that the conditions even allow me to run comfortably that fast. It will do mid 50’s, which feels fast on the water to me.
So here is the repair, took me less than 30 minutes and most of that was looking for a drill bit. Finally moved the cup holder out of the way. Now I don’t hit my drink when I put the throttles down. Hopefully I’m done with boat projects now. ![]() ![]()

I was told boats were a lot of work. It’s a older boat, but top tier brand. I’ve put 125 hours on the boat, And I go quite aways offshore fishing so I keep up with the maintenance. But so far the only thing that I missed and had to repair was the engine control cables. And that was not that expensive, but did take all day for me to put in by myself.
Now that I’ve jinxed myself I’ll be floating around 65 miles offshore. And the wind will pick up and the engines won’t start, or something worse.

That just made me laugh. Good fix! You should write an article for a boating magazine:
"We pick up 50 free horsepower! Look inside to see how we did it!"
