My wife loves her 2014 XKR for its beauty and 510 supercharged hp (quarter mile in 12.7 seconds) when she’s trying to get on the freeway. I don’t drive it much since I acquired a 2020 F Type SVR. It makes 575 hp, runs the quarter in 11.2 seconds and makes terrific noises! I’ve been impressed with their dependability. All we have done is have them serviced annually. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1656302419.jpg

What wheels are on the wifes? Don't hate the ones on mine but don't love them either and would like something different.

I looked at F Types, too short for it, could not find a comfortable seating position and still see out of the thing. Also the interior was too claustrophobic for my taste.

They are factory wheels - 20 inch Takoba.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1656304938.jpg

I was shocked to learn that the XK (the X150 is the version I checked out) has a reputation for ... wait for it ... reliability. I didn't think Jaguar and reliability were ever used in the same sentence :D But after doing much research on the Jag forums, it's true. My '07 has been rock solid. V8, RWD, staggered wheels, aluminum chassis and body - what's not to like? Just a really great GT.

Something I noticed this weekend.

Took the wife out to dinner and the back road is a somewhat enjoyable ride.

I'd already thought the shift points were pretty spot on perfect.

While slowing down even for a full stop these things downshift into engine braking even in standard full auto granny mode.

Don't think I've ever driven an auto that did that.

I have both a Corvette and the Jag.
They are very different cars.
The current gen Mustang on the other hand is much closer to the Jag.

It's like having a mustang or corvette without all of the stigma attached.

The gearbox is "adaptive", and the behavior will change over time after a reset.
In my case I don't like what it adapts for me as it ends up very tame.
I'd rather a punchy auto mode and I can keep it gentle in the paddle mode.

Now...that is one beautiful car. Inside and out. Love the upholstery work. But I just can’t make myself like these “flat” paint jobs. Perhaps it’s a vinyl wrap (door jambs are gloss black). Either way, it significantly detracts from an otherwise stunning profile.

My thoughts look at it was also wrap.

Beautiful cars.

Is this a bit like you had in mind?
They stopped making this color on 2012+ XKR's, XK only from then on.

That's a sweet ride with that interior.

I know you are in TX, but what do you think about the size? It looks rather large.

Tervuren 07-02-2022 03:01 PM

Compared to my 944 it was a huge step.
It is even bigger than it looks.
That said, its easy to drive which somewhat makes up for the size.

It's not a small car.

Very similar to my old VR4.

I drive my XJS all of the time, completely reliable. Well.. After a lot of work. The Teves II braking system can...

Edited: This that really necessary?
