We got pulled over one night. There was this guy that we hung out with, who was kind of a douche. We were all trying to play it cool and polite with the officer because we had a little bit of weed in the car , but were sober and not up to anything illegal, just pulled for speeding .
Our douche canoe buddy Jeff refused to show the officer his ID, and after a few minutes of haggling, he agreed to show the officer his Barnes and Nobles membership card. The card said " Member " right across the top . After looking over the id for a few minutes the officer hands it back to Jeff, and says " this id is correct, you are a member " . We all laughed our butts off at the officers humor, he let us off with a warning, and Jeff's new nickname forever became "member " I think of this interaction every time I hear the word member. Any, how , cool car . |
I remember this being a line in Will & Grace, but found it here.

Then we will know if it's ok to add an ad. :D |
Even an "ad hoc" post would suffice.... as long as it's off topic of course :D

I posted a few pix of a painting that I owned. Outa the blue a guy contacts me here that he would like to buy it, the price was set at 20K...He wanted me to send it to him without payment first...
I am still left wondering if he would have sent payment to me after receiving it? |
Then there was the dearly beloved by this Board member who wanted to buy a assault spoon from me...when I mentioned FFL dealer that was it...no more deal..
Does anybody think I am going to violate Federal law for a measly sale? Especially since I a have a Federal license. About a decade ago a friend in CA told me that he knew somebody that had a coupla of US Military surplus spoons that he wanted to sell and or find out about.. So the guy drove up here where we arranged to meet by a gun store on Dean Martin...So we meet he opens the trunk of his car when 2 dark Blue Crown Vic's roar up with 2 BATF agents getting out of the cars..My surprise was only topped by their disappointment.. for those 2 spoons were antique circa 1800 flintlock US military spoons. They really thought they had nabbed somebody. That store was under surveillance because of the 'fast and furious" stuff that was going to Mexico....The owner of that store later had his Federal license revoked...and then was caught selling US govt ammo that had been stolen by military personnel. Last I heard he disappeared back into Utah...leaving his wife to deal with a massive debt to some very unsavory characters.. last heard from she was sounding desperate trying to raise some cash to pay them off. most likely they put her to work. |
