Ya don't get much gas for 73 bucks....

My F150 was not on empty with a few gallons left, but I decided to fill-up at my usual station earlier.

First thing I noticed... when using my debit, instead of asking for my Zip code like it has forever.... it prompted me for a PIN (related thread earlier) or to hit enter to bypass... ENTER .

I put in around 17 gals and the pump shut off... at full. When driving away, I noticed the fuel guage (which has been working just fine) only climbed back to the 1/4 mark... never going past, and I've started/stopped a few times since.

As Roseanne Roseannadanna used to say....

It's always something ....

Any ideas?

Had a fuel pump replaced a few weeks back... first fill-up since then.

I really don't care if it doesn't go any higher.... not going lower in a few weeks might present a problem tho'....

I usually fill-up when the guage is on/below empty .... so I think I broke it by filling up early

If you put in 17 gal of gas and it only showed 1/4...sounds like something wrong with the fuel level sender. I would ask the person who did the fuel pump. Just my guess.

also...it's gauge

If the pump is in the tank, the hoses probably got tangled around the sender.

I probably won't even pursue the issue if the GAUGE () will work from 1/4 down to empty. I know it has 25 gallons in the tank now.... I'd sure like to know when I only have 1 or 2 left tho'!

Thanks!

We have convenience stores called MAPCO and I get a discount there on certain days of the week. Last week we filled up my vehicle, RX300, two 2gallon gas cans, and our Nissan Quest, in that order. When filling the Quest the pump shut off at 100 dollars!!! I've never seen that happen before. There is a 30 gallon limit but I didn't know there was a dollar amount limit as well. The RX was full, both gas cans were full but the Quest was only 3/4 full and my wallet was emptied of 100 bucks!!!

When gas shot up to 4 buck the first time (14 years or so back), a few of the local stations still capped the purchase at $50.... a REAL PITA. I've never hit $100 ... close, but no cigar . I would now... if my F150 was virtually empty.

Multiple times recently the pump has cut off at $75. I have to insert my card and pump some more gas.

Sometimes it shuts off at $100.

That’s a fill up for my 2014 F150.

You whippersnappers! Back in the days of gas war pricing (1970), a hundy would have bought you 400 gallons. Now 91 octane is $6.50+-/gal. in L.A.

Had the same happen to me when I had the fuel pump replaced in my Cayenne. I found that the hoses to the pump (inside the tank) needed rerouting as they were keeping the float from rising.

I bought 20.4 ga of 102 unleaded for my track car yesterday. $9.75 a ga. I think that's up $1.50 or so from last year.

Well look on the bright side of it. It doesn't take nearly as long to pump 70 bucks of gas into the car
