Dang Covid Positive!!!
I've been on 3rd shift this week, 1st week of the month long rotation. Well, I got in this morning and my daughter and I went on our usual morning walk, about a mile or so up and down hills in our neighborhood. I was feeling a little tired and after my shower, I ate some cereal and a banana and went on to bed.
Man, I woke up from the worst leg cramp ever and I was cold, had the ceiling fan on high and anyway, I just didn't feel well. When I finally got up, my wife took my temperature and it was 98.4, okay. Next, we decided to test me for covid and dang it, it was positive. I didn't trust the test so we waited a few minutes and tested again and sure enough, it quickly went positive!!! So, next I contact my Group Leader at work and I also called our medical department and was instructed to come in for another test so off I go to medical and they confirmed that yep, I've got the dang covid!!! So now, I am in quarantine for the next 6 days. Our summer shutdown is in two weeks so I guess I will have an extended shutdown. So far, temps have been normal, just having a little sinus pressure, hope that will be the worst of it. Anyway this is day 0 of 6 and I will re- test at medical on the 30th. Till then, I'm hunkered down in the den with this phone, forum, and YouTube!!! Lol. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

Mine was horrible. Chills, sweats, no appetite, sore back, exhausted...

Damn! Hang in there...you'll be sailng again in no time. Hopefully it'll be no more than like a nasty cold.
Youtube? Got 6 minutes? If you've ever played 8 ball pool, you have to watch this runout. Rules for this tournament were "shoot what you make" Chris made a solid ball on the break, so he had to shoot solids. That is the why of his opening shot. Safe for kids...though they might not have a clue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKD7EdzMjAM&ab_channel=genipool

I have had COVID and played a Doctor before on TV (Chicago Hope) and as such I'm prescribing the following:
Grilled cheese sandwiches (they seemed to taste the best) Plenty of fluids (Gatorade Pepino/ Limon is best) And binge watching "Longmire" (even if you've already watched it) Feel better!

Hope you get through it quickly. Mine lasted three days: one day I felt like I was coming down with something, next day I tested positive, felt crummy through the next day, felt fine the next day. My worst day was just no energy, so I just hung out. I think I got it from going to the local Mexican supermarket.

Sorry to hear this pal. I never ran a fever when I had it but my wife did. Tylenol helped keep the fever down.
This too shall pass.

Thank guys. This morning I felt tired, woke up around 6am and was up for about an hour , took some nyquil and went back to bed. Woke up again a few hours later and was so achy feeling and fatigued and was only up long enough to drink some Gatorade and I took a benadryl. A registered nurse friend of the family said to not take nyquil but to take benadryl instead, so I took 1 benadryl and went back to bed. I slept all afternoon and when I woke up I felt fantastic!!! No more fatigue, only very minimal sinus drainage and congestion. Now I think this stuff is going through me because I've had to go to the bathroom a few times in the past hour but all is good now. I've had some chicken noodle soup and crackers and now sipping my 2nd iced coffee!!! Feeling much better.

Hobie, you pussy. Ok, I kid, I kid. Thought you need the laugh. I spoke with the few people that had it in the past few months all said, symptoms went away in about a week. Hang in there and enjoy the quiet time while you enjoy the TV or utube.

Thanks for the laughs and well wishes guys. This would actually be day 1 and I am feeling way better. My daughter wanted me to sip on some peppermint tea so, per Dr's orders, I am sipping on some peppermint tea Lol.
Gonna take a benadryl when I head off to bed later, so far so good!!! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

Feel better soon! I have so many friends and business associates who are COVID positive now. I avoided 2 parties which turned into super spreader events!
Mrs. Beard seems to be one of the few in our circles that has not contracted COVID

Are you in good shape overall? Anecdotal, but guys here only had it a couple of days if they were the physically active type.
Get well soon…

I do smoke but I smoke an average of 5 cigarettes a day, although when I tested positive, I decided right then and there that I would not smoke and haven't had a cigarette since early Friday morning, heck this may get me to finally quit. Today is day 2 and I am feeling pretty much the same, a little sinus stuffiness, sore throat from eustachian tubes being swollen, all sinus related stuff. One thing to keep in mind is that my body had gotten accustomed to a 3rd shift schedule so, my body wants to sleep during the day and be up all night which is what I was fighting last night and would explain my tiredness during the day. My wife is now having symptoms and she is having to quarantine with me so dang, there goes my peace and quiet, lol. We attended a wedding Saturday a week ago and I think that is where I got it. I have learned of another person from the wedding coming down with it, and i was around that person also, shook hands and all, no way to tell for sure though. So anyway, so far so good.
