I'm still here... I'm getting better and I've had one unexpected outcome:
My Tinnitus has reduced intensity. It's still there but it's like someone turned down the volume. :) |
Are you coughing Peter? That seems to be the main complaint with the latest covid variant.
About day 12 for me and I'm fairly much OK but I get tired too soon. |
Yes coughing. That's the worst thing about this. :(

Probably about night number two I had real trouble breathing. My throat had closed up, probably a lot to do with the coughing and raw throat, then phlegm was cutting off my breathing. So I got almost no sleep that night lying on a strange angle to keep an airway open. Sounds a bit dramatic, but it was only one night, and breathing has been fine ever since. |
Glad things are working their way through. Feel better soon Bill and Peter.

Prior to this China virus, 20-something percent of colds (IIRC) had been corona viruses.
This China lab corona virus now adds to that as it has moved from epidemic to endemic. - Most of us have had it already and fully expect you all to get through this just a bit annoyed. ;) |
Just again...

So anyway I'm a whole lot better and my tinnitus now is what I would describe as "1". It was around an 8 or 9 before all of this.... I don't know what to say except that this is one of the best things that happened to me in over 10 years!
Woo :) |
Update for Peter and other members of the covid club.
GF has a friend very much in the know, and she says take it easy for a month. If you start hard working/exercising any sooner you risk getting long covid. I'm thinking I should fairly much be OK LOL |
A month? Who's got time for that? :(

fwiw, I went looking for that study - can't find it. :-/
I did find lots of Why you should fear long covid type articles. Stuff from "you may have it and not know it" to "employers need to account for long covid" ooh, "A Tsunami of Long Covid Awaits Us" Lots of money selling fear. |
Here we go...
https://www.science.org/content/blog-post/search-long-covid https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/974572 https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/962479 (nice video here) Get this.. Quote:
Essentially the test tracked people who actually had covid and control people who were told that they had covid. The people who did not have covid (but told that they did) reported 'long covid" more so than people who actually had covid. |
