Monza 6 hours - prettiest hypercar debut

It certainly won't be competitive yet, but man what a gorgeous car (and no rear wing).
Honestly as much as I always root for Porsche I will probably root for this over the 963 next year !! Look at this beauty ! I hope it's successful, I love it when pretty things are better than ugly things.

I see Cadillac was doing on-track testing last week. Although the car already looks significantly less-dramatic than the one in their video clip. Still, I like the fact that the cars look different to each other and incorporate design elements from the road cars. It's going to be an exciting next few years in sportscar racing for sure.

Porsche and Cadillac will be testing their hypercars together at Sebring end of this month. Of course, these sessions are closed to the public and generally run on a shortened course, but there are still several decent places to view (and take a few pics) from outside the fence. Also, Acura was testing their car at Magny Cours last week.

I've was at Sebring during a closed test session a few years ago for M-B WSC car. They do have security driving around running you off the property.

Yeah, they had it locked down pretty good today but I was able to watch the Porsche for quite a few laps. Luckily, they were using the full circuit which comes really close to the public roads with only a chainlink fence between. The Cadillac was not running while I was there. That's what I really wanted to see since there've been so few pics of it. I think they're testing 2 more days. Maybe I'll make another trip to the Sebring Airport

not really a looker IMO, and we'll see how the no rear wing works for them. i understand the math and why they think they can get away with it, but in a now BOP class, the lack of a rear wing limits your ability to respond to BOP changes. i worry they wont be able to respond to downforce needs when their straight-line speed gets BOPed.

everything at lemans depends on if the FIA actually fairly BOPs everything. see also: Ford GT in 2016 ...

more excited for the IMSA races in 23.

Go on the side of the track across from the airport parking lot. There's a big empty lot that will allow you to get up to the fence. That's where I was able to stand in the back of my p/u and see over the fence. Or along the road just past the old hairpin.

That's where I usually go. Shaded parking, good close viewing. But that piece between the road and the fence is owned by the track as I was informed one time by the rent-a-cops. The problem with tests is they're tests - one car, 3-4-5 laps then in for 15-20 minutes, etc.

There's all sorts of pics of the 963 online, so I don't think I'm giving anything away here.

It looks great. And I love the sound of the normally-aspirated V8. The Porsche V6 turbo sound was not that impressive to be honest. Some videos from IMSA's PR Dept approved 'spies' are out there now.
