Any weathertech fans?
Looking hard but there really isn't anything i want on the site. $200 to spend. Was thinking maybe try to sell it at a discount or possibly do the floor tiles they advertise.
Anyone try the floor tiles from there? |
I used to like their car mats....until I found you can buy nicer ones for less money.
On my Fit, I had some carpeted shaped mats from Ebay for half the price of weathertech and they worked great. My Civic...I bought a pair of shaped TuxMats....they are really nice. (if ever looking for mats...TuxMats are very good) The Weathertech cell phone holder looks like an over-priced piece of junk. I don't know anything about their floor tiles. |
The cup phone works well, my dad has one and I used it last week driving for 8 hours in his car.
Go ahead and buy your Canadian made mats, but I like to support US manufacturing and have 10+ year old mats that still work great. Got another set for my daughters Corolla and will get some for my Land Cruiser as the Toyota ones are nothing special. If you are going to get muddy or really want to protect the interior, the WT work great. Like Steve, I have no experience on the household items. |
The Cayenne has a complete set in it, including the one in the cargo area. Love them. Made in the USA is an added bonus for me...
|
$200 may get you a cup holder.
|
Bought a set for an '18 crew cab F 250.. couldn't be happier.
|
I like the floor mats. Never tried any of their other products.
Buy USA |
I used them in my various Grand Cherokees and they are excellent floor mats. However, the custom fitted floor mat market has exploded with the success of weathertec, i bet you can get equivalent or better off other brands for considerably less.
If you are going to sell it, I would suggest car forums and the like. Selling GC is a pretty tired old scam at this point, pretty hard to get it done outside of a community that knows you. |
I have them in my DD but they came with the car. Great mats. Not sure if I’d shell out the $$ for a new set, regular old carpet mats have always worked fine for me.

David MacNeil has a hell of a car collection.
|
I love WT mats and have them in all my vehicles except for the truck which has something similar but cheaper. WT mats seem to fit much better. I just sold the mats from my Prius on Craigslist for $100. That car was totaled a few weeks ago.
|
We have a couple of their comfort mats in front of our kitchen counter. My wife really likes them, and says they reduce fatigue when she's working on a large project, like canning, making salsa, or making marinara. (or Gravy, take that Shaun)

Went to buy a WT rear cargo floor mat for our '15 Dango and found online reviews pretty bad, mostly for fitment as one side is irregular because there is a stow-pocket below the floor line. People had posted several pictures showing how sloppy it is made. It may be 'laser-fitted' but Stevie Wonder was operating the machine.
I then rolled over to Amazon, found an off-brand with great reviews, and am very happy at @1/2 the WT price |
Cindy's Camry came with a set of weathertech mat copies...stamped Toyota. They seem to work well.
|
Apparently there's lots of $ to be made making floormats, who knew ? I try to sponsor vendors that aren't obscenely rich and super politically active (on either side but generally on the "anything to retain my $ side"). Not a fan. Laguna seca shirts have their company name on it now, blah..
On the other hand the "Made in america" angle is real. Still, I kinda have a knee jerk reaction vs Billionaires of late. |
One of my Land Rovers had a WT cargo liner. It was thin and not nearly as good as LR original stuff.
The Cup Phone holder thing is great. I think the hitch step thing looks cool and might be useful. But it would also give miscreants something else to F with on your vehicle and give them a step up to the roof. (My wife's LR4 someone hung down on the rear wiper until the motor broke.) |

Their floor tiles are terrible
|
Both our vehicles have them. They keep slush and snow from damaging the carpets
