OBDll Gauges
So the Jag does not have a temp gauge which I find really odd for a car whose known weak points are the water pump and a coolant crossover that can fail.
Plus it just kind of rubs me the wrong way especially where I live, supposed to be 108 tomorrow and it's been 100+ for 3 weeks straight with no end in sight. I've got an OBDLink MX+ and can just mount a spare cell phone in the car and call it a day. But the UI is terrible on the app and I'd like something that maybe appears more stock than a mounted cell phone, like a dash pod / A pillar pod or projected HUD on the windshield. Anyone ever use one of those? Any thoughts on whats good?

but it's english, so anything electric is even more likely to fail, so the sensor itself is not all that trustworthy is it ?

I’ve got the same OBD reader. You can change the look and style with settings. That said, having a phone and a holder on an expensive car seems strange.
As I’m working on my cooling system, I have the temp gauge enlarged and have a small speedometer/tach. ![]() Last edited by A930Rocket; 07-18-2022 at 05:30 PM.. |

Why couldn't you mount one of these somewhere inconspicuous?

The App you need is TORQUE.
I use a cheap Bluetooth ODBII reader connected to my phone.

Maybe not as slick as what you're wanting, but I ran one of the previous generation of these in one of my old cars for years (Maybe my Mazdaspeed miata). The new one looks like the screen is much improved over the old LCD.

Mostly because OBD is far easier and you get so much more data on tap.
I'm already getting the data I want, just would like a nicer presentation. With most digital outputs you can also set thresholds for alerts beyond what the stock idiot lights are programmed for.

Don't want to deal with taking it down and setting it up every time I park the car. Leaving the phone visible is just asking for broken windows.
