Chip Dip?
For a snack...I love chips and dip.
Found this one at Walmart a while back. With tortilla chips...it's addictive. $5 each. The smoked beef brisket flavor is strong and good. Combined with a cold beer...it's gone in no time! ![]()

I used Frito-Lay Santitas Tortilla Chips today for this dip.

I don't believe I've seen those, Steve, as I'm now pretty much regulated to Wheat Thins since my heart stuff happened. You know, less salt and less fat (to say nothing of the less taste too but it is what it is).

^^^ A friend told me about the dip and I had a tough time locating it in my local Walmart.
They are right next to the take-and-bake pizzas...alongside the other dips and humus. They also have low-carb chips....if those would work.

I never ate those premade dips. Occasionally I will test the waters, if there’s some laying around at a party, but homemade stuff is too good to eat something else. Guacamole is on the list, hummus and it’s cousins are on the list, plus I make a variety of Mexican salsas that are super addictive.

Steve,
Do you notice a little heat? There has to be some cayenne pepper in there.

^^^ I didn't notice much of that in mine. (But I only ate about a quarter of it.)
I know that some of their take-and-bake pizzas have way too much added heat. I quit eating them because of that...and I used to eat them all the time.

I suppose if I had to go get dip at the store right now and come back, I'd come back with
Liptons Onion dip made with the soup/dip mix and sour cream, some sort of salsa (chunky), and I like cheese dip, but I'd probably have to make my own. I also enjoy the Hidden Valley Ranch dip that's made similar to the Lipton's onion dip. If it's home made, or freshly made, then guacamole can also be an amazing "dip". I had a boss that used to bring in a great dip made with cream cheese and buffalo wing sauce that was really awesome. Not exactly the same, but I also love hummus.

cayenne pepper makes almost everything better. The best macaroni and cheese that I've ever eaten has cayenne as an ingredient. My favorite popcorn is "spicy". (the best way is with tabasco in the oil with the kernels, but you and everyone in the house will probably need an N95 mask and goggles if you make it that way (and I don't even like tabasco). The second best is with cayenne and/or chipotle powder.

I find all chips and dip addictive, so I don’t buy anything.

I don't make it often, but 2lbs original Velveeta,1lb pork sausage, 1 10oz can rotel semi drained, and either Fritos scoops or restaurant style tortilla chips.
You can get your heat either with the sausage, or the rotel. I make it with hot pork sausage most often, but also like it with regular sausage and hot rotel. Mild rotel is good too, but if you want good heat, go hot/hot. I haven't adjusted the cheese, but I bet you can. I would like to try the burnt ends dip.

My mom made this dip for us when I was a kid, we used Ruffles. Years later I asked her for her "special" dip recipe. It was just Lipton onion soup mix and sour cream, with a few hours in the fridge. Seemed exotic when I was ten.

It's all good...as long as you don't double-dip. ![]()

Wholly Guacamole sells a damn good dip. Guacamole with extra spicy pico de gallo layered on top. My wife and I can make a container of that disappear rapidly.
