Roll call for anyone here who has NOT had the Rona.....

I never got the Rona.

Anyone else here the same?

Sooner or later 08-11-2022 07:53 AM

I'm in

Neither me or my wife have had the virus, full roster of shots and boosters.

Dpmulvan 08-11-2022 08:03 AM

Never had it, however we will all get it sooner or later.

I'm not being political when I say don't rely too heavily on the shots and boosters. I've had the shots, booster and Rona twice.

Rot 911 08-11-2022 08:18 AM

My wife has had it twice. I have yet to catch it. We both got the original shots and the booster. She also got the second booster. I decided to pass on it.

Norm K 08-11-2022 08:20 AM

I'm not certain one way or another.

I think I probably contracted it about six months ago but since they won't treat you until and unless things get pretty bad, getting tested seemed a complete waste of time.

908/930 08-11-2022 08:25 AM

Not yet.

Roswell 08-11-2022 08:31 AM

No rona, no vax...

masraum 08-11-2022 08:46 AM

Neither myself nor the missus have had it. Daughter, Son-in-Law, and grandsons (3 & 6) have not had it. (shocking since she works in a hospital environment and he's a firefighter, but often in an ambulance on EMT duty).
Son and daughter-in-law have had it. Likely due to son working in the restaurant world.

All of us (except the grandsons) have been vaxxed 3 times.

Hugh R 08-11-2022 08:49 AM

Nope

pwd72s 08-11-2022 08:55 AM

None here either...but we're old, retired, live in a small population area.

SiberianDVM 08-11-2022 08:57 AM

Had 2 vaccs, plus booster, got the Crud twice, last time was 3 weeks ago.

island911 08-11-2022 09:00 AM

The nice thing is we have so much 'heard immunity' that it really can't move so quickly. The early virulent strains have really disappeared.

MBAtarga 08-11-2022 09:05 AM

Nope- but the wife got it three weeks ago from a trip/convention with about 700 of her closest sorority sisters.

svandamme 08-11-2022 09:06 AM

I hate being around people... Which to me says that was the best tactic in the first place.

And I think the Rona made the population as a whole behave more as large groups,
my long standing theory : that People doing things as groups, reduces the average IQ as the group size increases exponentially, the rona confirmed that principle very clearly.

Can't wait for the zombie pandemic, The dumbasses will be wiped out!

I wanna see it go from 8 billion to something like 2 and a half.
it will make early 911's affordable again

javadog 08-11-2022 09:22 AM

Never got the clot shot, never got the ‘Rona.

Had a better plan.

Tobra 08-11-2022 09:24 AM

No. I don't really get sick. I am around sick people every single day at work.

Unjabbed

I hear ya but I think most of this still boils down to personal sanitation and cleanliness habits plus not doing stupid stuff like congregation with a bunch of other human 'super-spreaders'.

For example.....I've always been a good hand washer - never use a dishwasher - love how clean my hands feel after washing my dishes.

I will get take out - but do not ever go out to eat - unless forced to. Since I am not married - I have total control over this. :)

And while I'm not an anti-vaxer - I never got the jab. I've always been in good health and never even got flu shots either so not going to start now.

Hope you continue to stay healthy! SmileWavy

911 Rod 08-11-2022 10:09 AM

I had it for 10 days 3 weeks ago and my wife never got it from me which I thought was strange.

oldE 08-11-2022 10:18 AM

Neither my wife nor our grand daughter nor my MIL nor I have had it. We are dedicated hand washers and mask in the stores. My wife's siblings have all had it.
We got the shots to reduce the severity of the flu if we did indeed contract it. An ounce of prevention, as it were.

Best
Les

matthewb0051 08-11-2022 10:20 AM

Had it twice, the wife once.

Luckily, my 88yo FIL has not had it and he isn't one to sit at home. But dang, his circle of friends and family sure have. Keep on dodging that bullet!

mgatepi 08-11-2022 10:23 AM

Nope not here!! Both my wife and I have not had the rona! She works at the VA and around people all the time and I work in a group of about 100. Neither of us have missed a day of work since this pandemic started. Well except some vacation time.
We are vaccinated and boosted up to date.

GH85Carrera 08-11-2022 10:41 AM

Never had it, and same for my wife. I attended Porsche Parade with 2,500 friends and stayed at the huge resort hotel. Traveled for 10 days and ate every meal at restaurants or banquets.

Both my wife and I had the first three vaccinations.

I grew up as a typical boomer kid, and played with dogs, played in a lot of dirt, and drank from random garden hoses when thirsty.

I guess if I ever did have it, I was one of those with zero symptoms. I don't think either of us had it.

pete3799 08-11-2022 10:41 AM

Nope.

Bill Douglas 08-11-2022 10:44 AM

Sorry, I'm a fail. Got it about five weeks ago. Fine now, just the occasional croaky throat feeling.

Racerbvd 08-11-2022 10:46 AM

I haven't had it..

Jays72T 08-11-2022 10:50 AM

Never got it.

IROC 08-11-2022 10:51 AM

Never. I was exposed a number of times but never got it. No one in my household has had it, either.

Noah930 08-11-2022 10:55 AM

Not yet. Probably will get it at some point, but still trying to avoid it.

What I don't entirely understand are the people who tell me they have had it multiple (3+) times.

David 08-11-2022 10:57 AM

I'm vaxed, been going to the office since this mess started and haven't caught it.

There are only a couple of coworkers left that haven't caught it.

My wife avoided it until a couple weeks ago when she went to Thailand.

MMiller 08-11-2022 10:59 AM

If I did, I was not aware of it.. Same for the girlfriend. Hope that good fortune continues!

Bill Douglas 08-11-2022 11:15 AM

You guys are on the right track. The longer it is before you get it, the weaker the virus is. by that I mean it's less likely to kill you. I didn't even know I had it until GF insisted I got a RAT test for my "minor cold."

stomachmonkey 08-11-2022 11:27 AM

No one in my house yet but the way I feel today my luck may have run out.

I've been convinced of late that there are some of us who will just never get it.

My wife never had chicken pox even though her mom took her to all the "get it over with" parties that people used to do for that stuff back in the day.

cockerpunk 08-11-2022 11:39 AM

i had a sore throat the next day after being exposed, but tested negative. only that day too.

other than that, been exposed knowingly at least 3 or 4 times, and have not had it. vaxed and boosted. ready for my omicron BA4/5 booster when that comes out.

Why?

We've learned that having it (or the shots) doesn't make you immune to getting it again.

I wouldn't have known I got it, except that I HAD to get tested for travel I was doing for the government. They caught me, I got put in COVID jail for 5 days with a very mild sore throat for one or 2 of those days.

Heel n Toe 08-11-2022 11:49 AM

No Covid for us. I'm retired, so not out much since it began... wife was a full time teacher until retiring at end of July, so she was at the highest risk of getting it. Her school was fully masked up.

We were both careful to mask up when going out for the first year when it was recommended (for us "older" folks) and because we have risk factors. We still mask up at times, but not even half as much. Went to Chipotle yesterday unmasked.

Both of us are vaxxed, but I never got the 2nd booster. My doc said don't get it now and just wait until the new one that is for the new variants is available.

stevej37 08-11-2022 12:03 PM

It wouldn't surprise me to find out that about half on here that said they never had it.....did have it and never realized it because their health and resistance was good.
