Batgirl cancelled

Apparently it was irredeemably bad so the producers canned it.

How do you see that it is not going well, not make corrections along the way and spend 90 MM on a flop?

I would have gotten a kick out of seeing what Keaton would have done with the part.

Sounds like change of strategy (with spinout of WBD from DISCA, new WBD management is axing lots of expensive Warner Studio projects) and a tax loss maneuver.

"Batgirl" was supposed to be a modest budget streaming movie, went 2X overbudget, was going to require lots more $ for promotion, and was concern its flop could damage prospects for the future "Batgirl" theatrical movie. And WBD needs tax losses to offset purchase accounting gains from the spin (I don't get the details, but that's what the financial analysts say).

Warner has made a serious hash of the whole Batman franchise in the past decade, the movies have been humorless and grim, worse and worse, culminating in the debacle that was "Batman v Superman", and bigger picture how many times can you keep retelling the origin story of a weepy sociopath who never seems to leave his hometown? Superman is a bore. They need new characters, I don't know if Batgirl is the answer but if they're going to try, needs to be something better than a made-for-streaming flop.

I've got to say that it won't bother me at all.
Seen enough super-hero movies to last me till the end.

Yvonne Craig was smoking hot.

Yeah, I know, but still, she was.

I liked the Batman v Superman movie. I've also really enjoyed the movies up to Dark Knight Rises, but they were definitely dark and adult compared to some other comic/hero movies. I haven't seen "The Batman," and I'm not really interested.

Steve has been petitioning Hollywood to make a huge Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie series as well as more TV series. He just can't get enough of the TMNTs.

I think if they brought a whole lot of unnecessary nudity into it, while still keeping the batgirl theme, it could be a success.

I would have watched it on TV even if it was horrible.

Maybe they didn't want Lia Thomas to insist that HE play batgirl?

A movie I would not have watched on a bet. Now I have to see it.

Either the movie sucks or the marketing folks are genius.

The last superhero type movie I saw was the joker, with Joaquin Phoenix. So, batgirl was not going to be seen.

Imagine spending that sort of money making a movie only to shelve it at the last minute!

Something tells me we're not getting the whole story - Sensing Shyster Shenanigans

At this stage... I'd be surprised if Amber Heard got work as a model for a hand cream company.

Her people need to do something to resolve the situation NOW.
- Bit parts in B Grade movies? Somehow I don't think she'd find that satisfying.

That's right, keep Hollywood White, Rich, Old and WASPy. Even those stinkin' Catholics are suspect...
