Can’t seem to shake off Covid

My whole family caught Covid while at Disneyland two weeks ago. I was put on Paxlovid then my wife. She seems to have recovered after finishing the med but still testing positive. I felt great while on the med but still tested positive. It’s been a week since finishing the 5 days of it, still testing positive but also showing symptoms again. I’m tired, having trouble sleeping unless I take a CBD gummy, have weird dreams and coughing due to sinus drip. My son who was not prescribed Paxlovid is still fighting it as well, coughing and sinus drip. Covid is no joke, man.

It was a 4 week ride for me. Even after testing -ve, the last 2 weeks lingered.

I hope you are feeling better soon.

I hope you and your son feel better soon. Covid ran through my family as well back in early July. I got it, then my wife and daughter but my son didn't get it, thank goodness. We are vaxxed and boosted and really didn't suffer too much other than sinus drainage and a little congestion. I had some chills for about a day and that was it, never really had a fever. They say that you can still test positive for weeks even if you aren't having any symptoms. Drink plenty of water and Gatorade. I took 1 benadryl each night for sinus drainage and it seemed to help me.
Wishing you and you family a healthy and complete recovery.

Covid sucks
6 months of being winded just walking between buildings. Never smoked and under 30. now my lungs feel like a 70 year old.

Sounds familiar.
Sick two weeks and another six weeks to fully recover mental an physical strenght. This was however at the start of the pandemic so not vaccinated.

However, if during an infection, improvement stops and you start feeling worse again there is always the possibility of a secondary bacterial infection. Alhough, with Covid, the virus have a well documented history of playing games with the immunesystem creating waves of better and worse periods in itself.

i still have a very very small cough after coming back to work last week.

got it from my girlfriend. she was done in a few days and tested NEG 5 days after her symptoms started. she had symptoms for just a few days but seemed worse than mine but for a shorter time

she is chinese. she eats VERY healthy. lots of veggies, chinese ones. i have seen her get sick and it not last long at all.
i really think diet plays a major part in health. BTW, i dont eat like she does. i eat out all the time, she rarely eats out. even kills her own chickens.

back around july i felt bad, and tested but never tested positive. i think it was it though, because i too still have a little sniffle and occasional cough.

if it wasnt covid, there sure is a bad summer cold running around too.

I thought it would be a walk in the park. Nope. It took about three weeks to get back to mostly normal. The first week was not much more than a very runny nose. The second week was brutal with fever. I spent an additional week recovering AFTER I tested negative. Covid had drained my gas tank.

Patience is part of it. I was winded for a few weeks after. I've heard you can get a bit of a "bounce back" with the drug. I didn't take it. After almost 2 months I still have a bit of phlem which is unusual for me. My wife complains about snoring that wasn't an issue for the several years pre covid.

I had a dry cough for three weeks after the main symptoms faded. Delsym helped with the cough, the fatigue just sucked for a longer time.

I've heard the rebound effect on those antivirals is real... You may have been better off fighting it off once and for all...
