I just turned the TV on and flipped it to CBS .... expecting to see 0 -0 .... then remembered it wasn't futbol :D.

This is ... well... it's not ... you know...good football.

But I enjoy the pride of the military on display and for just that I will enjoy the game . These young men do far more for our nation than entertain for 60 minutes .

End of regulation tied up 10 all.

Going to OT for the first time in the history of the game !

Goodness gracious.....Navy defers and Army scores on their first play. 17-10 Black Knights!

LOL.......Navy returns the favor with the first pass of the day for a TD. Tied again at 17 all!!!

Navy fumbles the ball on a 3rd and goal, Army takes over and kicks a FG to win.

Final score: 20-17.

Crappy way to end an exciting ending......

One thing for sure...Army-Navy game means every bit as much, probably more, to those who play in it as those who play in a national championship game.

Beavers scouting report
 

On paper, Beavers vs. Gators should be a close game. But they don't play the game on paper, so who knows? Couple of things might help you enjoy rooting for the Beavers. The Beavers coach, Jonathan Smith, was the starting QB in the year 2000 Fiesta bowl, where they humiliated none other than Notre Dame. Not that he was a Heisman candidate or anything. Nope, he had a pair of receivers named Chad Johnson (Ocho Cinco) and T.J. Houzemada (sp?), both ended up playing for the Bengals if memory serves. But he does seem to be a hell of a coach whose players would crawl through broken glass for. This his 1st college head coaching job. The current QB is actually the backup...starting QB got hurt with what must have been a serious neck injury in the first game of the year. Again, no Heisman candidate, but has a line that protects well and also open up holes for a talented and fast freshman running back. No kicking game to speak of...so look for them to go for it on 4th downs when many teams would be trying a field goal. Defense is a "bend but don't break" style...seldom allows big plays. It all starts with good lines on both sides of the ball. Gators lines will probably have their hands full. They'll be very tired by the 4th quarter...

There you have it...my scouting report. Anybody from Florida want to fill me in on what to watch with the Gators?

They really need to go down to FCS. I watched part of South Dakota State game on Saturday. Good game and certainly where the Academies should be playing. The 1920s
and their heyday was a long time ago.

I'll be pulling for the Beavs, even though I don't expect you'll do the same for the Ducks vs. the Heels.

OSU was smart, by the way, to give Smith that nice extension, although I'm confident he'd have been a Beav for life anyway.
