I actually got to meet Johnny Majors a couple of times while he was the head coach. Fond memories.

I always thought that firing Fulmer was very short sighted. It led to a merry go round of coaches and loss of program quality.
Absolutely. I can dissect UT football's fall from grace all the way back to the 2001 SEC championship game where UT let underdog LSU beat them, but yes, Mike Hamilton (UT AD that fired Fulmer mid-season) set the whole fiasco into motion.

My father-in-law is a rabid Auburn fan (he never went there, but...). Anyway, he called for Gus Malzahn's firing for years. Evidently my F-I-L was tired of 8/9/10 win seasons. I told him, "Be careful what you wish for.". Enter...Brian Harsin. Now, he'd kill to have Malzahn back.

Hopefully Heupel has long term plans vice just using this HC job as a stepping stone. Hearing his interviews, I believe that may be the case.
I think Heupel plans to be here for a while. The facilities and fan base are hard to beat (especially when Tennessee is winning). I think it would take a lot to get him to leave at this point in time.

I haven’t liked that MSU coach since I first saw him. His team is out of control. He needs to be fired.

I don't think that will be easy to do. His $95 million -10 year contract was footed by two Alumni Billionaires...Matt Ishiba and Steve St Andre.
How that was ever worked out is beyond me....seems that MSU is being held hostage.
If they fire Tucker...who pays him off? and does the money stop?

I think it's hard for most of us to fathom how deep the really deep pocket$ are .... For multi-billionaires, a hundred million is chump change.

And yet, tuition keeps going up.

I saw on Saturday the buyout for Jimbo Fisher: $86m. There was one even higher.

A new video came up with an MSU player swinging and hitting a UM player on the head with a helmet.
The UM player had no helmet on and he has a concussion. His parents are pressing charges against MSU.

Tennessee #1 in the initial CFB playoff rankings. We'll get to enjoy this until at least Saturday afternoon. :)

My daughter is a freshman at UT this semester. She says the atmosphere on campus is amazing.

Beavers and Huskies play tonight on ESPN2!

Both teams are 6-2 and Oregon State is ranked #23 in the country.

Wow!

Go Beavers! It's okay to root for the underdog...not necessarily the way to bet. ;) Huskies are favored.

(edit) Well, shucks! Beavers lost by a field goal...4 seconds left.

3:30 pm: Tennessee vs. Georgia - CBS

7 pm: Alabama vs. LSU - ESPN

Go Gators!

rfuerst911sc 11-05-2022 04:48 AM

Go Dawgs !!!

stevej37 11-05-2022 08:13 AM

The Buck-eyes might have a tough game at Northwestern.
Same weather as here....driving rain with up to 45 mph winds. :D

flatbutt 11-05-2022 10:23 AM

Army vs Air Force in the 4th now. Not very good football but that's not why they go to their particular schools.

Baz 11-05-2022 11:36 AM

Gators get the SEC road game win against the Aggies.

Not a bad start to the day!

Just need a Bama win and a Phillies win now to complete the hat trick! :)

flatbutt 11-05-2022 11:41 AM

Dawgs v Vols. I hope it lives up to expectations.

Only for one team.... Total domination too.

rfuerst911sc 11-05-2022 02:49 PM

Dawgs defense played very well as did the offense . Total team effort

flatbutt 11-05-2022 04:20 PM

Dawgs had a very good day.

Baz 11-05-2022 04:56 PM

Dawgs looked like the defending National Champions today.

Now Bama held to only 2 FG's the first half and trail LSU 7-6.

Young playing injured. Wonder if we see Milroe.

In any event - the Tigers are a VERY good team!
