I like a Sun Tea made with Lipton or sometimes something from Celestial Seasonings like their Red Zinger.

No sugar, just straight up although I will add some Simply lemonade for more flavor.

Lately I’ve been picking up the Shaka Tea at Costco. No sugar, no caffeine and Mango Hibiscus and Pineapple Mint are good.

I make a couple gallons per week

Boil 4 cups water
Steep 12 bags for 5 min
Add 1/2 cup sugar
Add 1/4 teaspoon baking soda (does wonders for flavor and clarity)
Add to 3 qts cold water

Perfect drink, not too sweet.

Thanks for the recipe and tip on the baking soda - will give it a try!

Body Count

I've got to say, I'm a fan of his later work with Body Count.

I will mix in flavored teas, 3:1 Lipton Black Tea and Constant Comment for example.

I use a lot of Meyer lemons when they are ripe in my tea.

I like an Arnold Palmer from time to time, half tea, half lemonade

I don't like it all that sweet. They drank tea that was sweet as hell in the South, would squeeze half a lemon in it and there is your Arnold Palmer.

The soda cuts the tannic acid, which can make tea bitter, like my ex wife

Is there less caffeine in tea than coffee? Which tea has the most? Coffee messes up my reflux so I favor tea but I have to drink so much of it to get a pick-me-up. Then it’s a race to the little boy’s room.

My source states that an 8 ounce cup of tea provides 15-57mg of caffeine whereas a cup of coffee provides 80-135mg of caffeine.

For something like Lipton, I'm not sure how important it is, but for high quality teas, it can make a HUGE difference in the taste. And you can often steep good teas 2-3 times, but then the steep times are different.
Steve, spot on. I'm aware of steep time - it does get bitter if it is steeped too long.

Twisted Tea lights & peach if i'm wanting alcohol and Snapple Peach if i don't. The snapple peach is ridiculously good.

Also a fan of the Pure Leaf Raspberry.

The search continues for the strongest cup of tea. Thanks for the info.

I sell around 2K to 3K packaged non-alcohol drinks on average per week. Of those, around 12-15% are some sort of tea drink. Some are carbonated, other just tea. Of course that includes Arnold Palmer, Lipton, Peace Tea, and energy drink "tea" such as Bang.

Hot teas are more popular in the winter than now. The most popular are Tazo, Twining, Stash, and The Republic of Tea. I also carry some Japanese green tea "Genmai Cha". The least popular are Bigelow and Lipton. I don't follow the standard planogram for any gas station. I carry unique items based on customer requests and actively obtained feedback.

My personal favorite hot teas are loose leaf teas from Teazer's. Moroccan Mint with a bit of milk and sugar. Tea sales really spiked in 2019. People are more into CBD now. Maybe a CBD tea will come out next.

Thanks, Russ - very informative!

Was shopping at Winn Dixie tonight and had a convo with one of the associates there about sweeteners. She said she usually goes for Stevia with Monk fruit from Whole Earth.
