Yikes!

I like MCM, but I like the sleek and streamlined wood and furniture. All of that other stuff - no.

Growing up I absolutely hated the MCM look. My hometown is the Doo Wop Capital of the world. That look was everywhere, buildings, furniture, cars, you name it. Boomerang Formica, sparkly vinyl chairs, plastic covered sofa's, Lucite furniture, that starburst pattern wall art, Neon, Neon and fake Palm trees. At the height of Doo Wop we had 600 buildings mostly motels and most were MCM.

Much of the original architecture has been torn down and replaced by square condominiums.

This was the Surf Side Restaurant (a Diner) it sat on the beach, an Icon for years. In the 1990's the owner died and the property was sold, rather than tear it down it was catalogued, dismantled and stored, everything was saved tables, counter, hostess stand, lights. It was evetnually reconstructed on a new location at a park across the street from the new Doo Wop style convention center where it serves as a welcome center, museum.

Now they are building new.

I'm with you.

Minimalist MCM is more better for me.

Kind of looked like it could have been on the Hoarders show.

My parents house was built in the 40s and redecorated in the 60s in pink and green for the two bathrooms and kitchen. They liked it and never modernized it, except to upgrade the shower.

When I was trying to sell it, my wife invited over a couple of real estate agents to give me advice. They hated the bathroom and kitchen and insisted I spend a lot of money to make it modern or it will never sell. I sold it "as is" and the guy that bought it loved the pink and green old school look.

It really doesn't look so nice with them curves either.
It tries to had to blend in to the point where it just looks poorly fitted with its surroundings Teletubbie Nonsense.
So It really doesn't actually blend in; nor does it contrast, it just clashes and it doesn't work
I bet it's not real its a rendering nor will it be built. Nobody will pay for that as actual house.

Would have been done much much nicer with clean straight lines, the Brazillian 60ies style..

I don't get it, its a tatched roof house, dime a dozen around here
the only thing slightly remarkable is the excessive use of bare nature stones rather then the usual midieval stile walls with wood/plaster rendering..

but it don't make it all that nicer looking for it, it if anything it looks tacky
