Back in the saddle again

Many years ago, I worked at a company based out of Houston that also had a bunch of employees based out of Louisiana. I remember a guy from Louisiana showing up one day with a cast iron "cauldron" about this size full of chili and a propane burner. He just showed up to share his chili with everyone.
 The same place had a chili cookoff in the fall and a gumbo cookoff in the spring.
