He is calling us all racists. Sort of violates the TOS, but he is like a mascot or a pet.

Anyone watching ? Pretty "open" this year.

Was watching that game yesterday with Serena and Kontaveit.. Honestly I'm not sure what the exact standards are for dress code - they are more lax at the US open than wimbledon but how far can you go ? but Senera's top and hair were 100% glittering under the lights like a damn Xmas tree. At some point I thought it was lit up with batteries or something but no just reflections. If I was her opponent I would have complained, it was distracting to watch on TV, I cannot imagine while playing her. Not to take away form her talent and career, but maybe less disco ball for fairness ?

I was wondering the same thing..

Only 2 men have won the US Open 5 times. That would be Earl Strickland, who did it first, then Shane Van Boening.

Oh...wrong open. My apologies. (edit) In case anybody would care to watch a stunning match, here's SVB winning title #5.

3 hr, 5 min final match. And what a rollercoaster. Pretty gripping.

Somewhere, Martina Hingis is smiling.

When did Grunting get so poplukar with the players?

It started with Monica Seles. There was a huge controversy and the tennis powers that be initially banned her from making the noise since it was considered a poor sportsmanship tactic to distract the opponent and to mask the sound of the ball hitting the racquet (which can be a tell as to the return that is coming). They later relented.

Apparently Volk can play tennis too?

At the 2022 US Open (tennis) Tomljanović ended the WTA career of Serena Williams, who had previously announced that this US Open would be her final tournament. Tomljanović defeated Williams on Friday, September 2nd in a hard-fought 3rd round match (7-5, 6-7, 6-1) which, at 3 hours 5 minutes, was the longest match Serena had ever played. The final game was a 22-point marathon in which Serena saved five match points before succumbing.

Serena gave it her all and came up short . She has her memories of a great sports career and can now start the second phase of her life .

If Serena makes the smart choice and retires now, she can have "retired on top". The way she did the interviews and how much the crowd loved her will make it that even though she wasn't #1 seed or won the Open, she leaves with a high public status and a great record.

It is always so sad when has-beens keep trying to be something they aren't anymore and they just look pitiful. This is true in sports and musicians. Cue Grace Slick:

It wasn't an issue for anyone else watching at home, or live, or for the opponent.

Sounds like you need your cataracts cleaned up
or maybe you were having a stroke?

You might want to see a doctor about possible epilepsy.

OMG. Honestly, what was all that in the beginning with her walking around? Super weird!

Por_sha911 09-03-2022 12:13 PM

She should have taken her own advice.

Or maybe an audiologist…you didn’t hear the commentators talking about the sparkles in her hair?

No one at the stadium even noticed because they were hypnotized by the sparkling strobe effect.
Needed the epilepsy warning before the broadcast.
