Houston area peeps..
I posted this over in the tech section also but I know there are few here from that area..
Friend just bought an SC in the Houston area and looking for someone/ some shops to get some work done...(needs seats pulled out for recovering, it has a hard start symptom which i think is a fuel reservoir issue, and other basic maintenance. Any suggestions?

Houston is a very big place. It would help to know what area/side of town.
For two places that are fairly central with great reputations Einar's Garage - Einar Gorland And Modern Aircooled- Jordan Cameron Remeljej there's also a place that is newish, but seems to have a good rep, Garagisti. I think they are a little towards the northwest side of town. I think there are also other places on the north side. I'm not sure about the other areas. Rennsport out in Sealy. Mike Callas a few years back (RIP), but believe Warren took over.

Yes Mike has passed and Warren runs the bizz. Mike's wife runs the office.
I really like Rennsport and certainly recommend them, but have heard good things about Einar and Modern Air cooled as well. Yasin

I used C and B Foreign and Domestic (i-10 and Mason). The guy (Craig) super nice straight shooter. He was very knowledgeable with my 88 and has a long history with Porsche. Shared shop time with Mike Callas back in the day. It's not advertised as a Porsche shop but I would have no hesitation referring to his shop.

There was a shop on TX-249 that had an old time Porsche tech who worked on the CIS on the 101-Projects SC. Not sure if the guy is still there, as I haven't been there since 2005. He definitely knew CIS!

And there you have it. Rennsport in Seally is probably a pretty big hike for your buddy in Spring Branch. Seally is WAY out west. But I have heard that folks brought their cars from all over the US to that shop. I10 and Mason might be convenient for Spring Branch.
The shop that Red recommends might not be too bad either. The two central shops, Einar's and Modern Aircooled probably aren't too bad either.
