Don't "clean as you go" or make any repairs. Wait until the dust settles and either let them fix things right or charge them appropriately to have it done by a third party. Production companies have insurance, let them pay the costs. If you don't feel that they have made things right at the end of the day you can pursue legal channels and that will get their attention. They hate it if there is any chance of some party putting a "lien on the film negative" that would effect release of their "Pet Project". |
[QUOTE=craigster59;11798736]^^^^^ This right here. Hopefully the majority of filming was exteriors, they can mess up a home quick with last minute decisions and camera angle changes.

They hate it if there is any chance of some party putting a "lien on the film negative" that would effect release of their "Pet project Everything was supposed to be outside, but they ended up using the inside of one barn for storage and back lights. They did it after midnight on the first day of filming when none of us were around to give permission. Billing them for that extra. We did walk around identified issues and they cleaned up the place very well. The fake blood and stuff are supposed wash away once it rains. Worst part was finding big light on tripod inches away from my porsche in the car port with no one watching it. They were supposed to stay several hundred feet away from Carport. They borrowed tools and buckets from the barns and left around the filming area, they drove high lift tower and large box truck up narrow road and almost slid off side even after we told them not to drive big stuff up it. We had several neighbors call during daylight because they saw one location they filmed and thought we had been vandalized. Film company was supposed to get permits for this but they said they called city and were told they didn't need one. We're in unincorporated County and definitely need permits. We ended up having to talk to neighbors to let them know what was happening. Film company "forgot " to as they promised us. Thanks for all the advice here,it will help IF we ever do this again. Partnership meeting next week to discuss all this. |
Was it financially worth it?

Filming days are usually 5 times the cost of prep and strike days. A large facility for filming interiors can run $700-1000 per day for prep/strike, $3-5k a day for filming. And all electrical should come from their generators, no "in house" use of electrical.

LOL! All this reminds me of a tale. Raquel Welch was making a roller derby movie...film company wanted to use friend Gary Wright's houseboat for a scene. He agreed, but only if he could have a pic of he & Raquel in bed together.
They found another houseboat.... |

they conned me into letting them use my ‘67 CST pickup truck for a background car.
next thing? the d o p wants it as a form of hero car. next thing? they start strapping cameras to the hood. next thing? i walked into the middle of set - told them to back off. jumped in it, and drove it off set. as far as picture car planning? the teamster saying is “if it’s not on the (call) sheet - it’s not on the street”. |
Everything here basically back to normal. Still waiting on film crew to pick up their last prop.

Tell him an extra $2k or the chicken gets it! Seriously, that was either rented from a prophouse or it could have been made as key prop for the film. If the film hits big you could have a modified "Maltese Falcon" on your hands. Could bring big bucks at auction! :) |
Location filming at our farm
So you don’t want a huge cock? ???
