My FIL bought a brand new 63.5 Galaxie with the solid lifter 427 and a 4 speed. To this day says it’s one of the few cars he wished he kept and he would trade in/buy a new car with the biggest motor offered and a manual transmission just about every year until the mid 70’s. His list of cars is awesome and we talked him into putting a book together about them as he still had a lot of the paperwork all these years later.

Years ago, somebody asked Grady Clay how he knew engines so well. He replied that he used to hang out at drag strips, adding that "those guys really know engines". Pretty obvious this applies to the old guy in the opening video.
