There was a 930 that went for almost $500K at one of the Monterey auctions this summer. (470-something or 480-something)

No linky? What, are you afraid that one of us is going to outbid you?
I get it, it would be nice to be able to buy an "old" or "classic" car that was in "new" condition. THe problem is that I'm not sure that a car that old can be in new condition even if stored, just based on age. What about any and all rubber, leather, etc drying out and becoming brittle. What about brake fluid absorbing water? What about fuel getting old? Think about all of the problems the old antifreeze would cause. ![]()

somewhere around 15+ years ago I was asked to sell a Turbo with 999 miles on it. 999. white. still smelled new inside. It was perfect. Turbos were $25 to $35K cars at the time. I tried to get $60 for the shop and owner. Impossible. Sloan bought it for $45K I think.

If the guy bought it from Steve Taub in Santa Monica in the first place like the listing says, he got hosed down good back in 1979. So there is some poetic justice for him here.

It is a crying shame to have a 911 that is 43 year old and only 7K miles. That poor thing wants to be on the road having fun. I simply do not understand saving a car for the next buyer. Cars are meant to be driven, especially a 911.
Someone really wanted that one. I sure hope it gets driven.

I agree with the comment that while a nice car, its not a 379k driving experience.

There is no such thing as a "garden variety" 930.
Hand built, very special cars, that have been under valued for way too long.
