Happy Gopher Dance!
been doing battle for about 3 weeks with this guy who was digging under my AC pavement driveway and finally I got to dance.
Biggest gopher I've ever trapped here. his head was like 2x as big as any I've seen. Old dude, long ass teeth, a grey snout, and a draggin sack that prolly kept his tail off the ground. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1664934409.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1664934429.jpg |
I remember snaring tons of these as a kid, just put the noose around the hole and wait for them to pop up. Used the wait forever 😃

Many years back....my lawn was infested with gophers. Every time going outside, I would see 5 or more disappear down into their tunnels.
I tried the gallon jug of water method and caught all of them in one season. |

Many videos on youtube...this is an older one.
The only part that the guy doesn't explain...you must spot one going into it's hole. If you just pick a hole...it'll most likely be empty. Works every time. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/VysEvGe_bcA" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Cool! Thanks...

Some say gophers have more than one exit to their tunnels.....I've never seen that.

If you decide to try the “propane” technique, please film it and be sure to share…..[emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
^^^ I have never considered that.
A simple gallon jug of water works. |
if you look closely at the photo the water jug would not work due to the tunnel being horizonal. Have seen that technique and video previously. another video has the guy's german shepard going after the thing and the dog ends up being afraid of it...

Maybe next time name the thread something else so I don’t have to see this horrible ****ing ****. Ever hear of a have a heart trap? Goddamn

Injects propane and oxygen in measured amounts, ignite it and there's a loud boom. Earth blows up along the tunnels and collapses back in on it self. I think the company that made it is no longer in business, they were up in Idaho IIRC. I'm not allowed to use it around here anymore. :D |

Im gunna be dealing with its tunneling under my AC pavement for years to come. I'll know where his tunnels are exactly when I'm crack sealing my driveway the next couple years... Glue traps and gopher gassers are fool's gold, so glove up so they don't smell you on the trap. get on your knees, open up the tunnel some with a garden spade, set that trap and hope for the best. fishing for mammals! I cannot express enough that your scent on the trap will doom you. |

My problem is I might blow up some part of the tunnel in my neighbors back yard. I love that video.

Once my outdoor cat grabbed a gopher right in front of me.
Wire a leash on your trap, lost a trap when a snake pull a trap back into the tunnel with the dead gopher. I spray the trap with wd40 and handle it with gloves to leave less scent. More of sport with these rats and dogs. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/X8mETCCCh7Y?start=412" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
