When I was a water water rating guide in the late 70's, early 80's, there was a nude beach/picnic area on a section of the Stanislaus River. This was before the New Melones Dam.

One trip, there was a woman sunbathing nude on a large rock in the middle of the river. I was leading the trip so I was the lead raft. As we approached, she sat up and I kid you not was the most beautiful woman I think I had ever seen. There were three couples in my raft and even the woman gasped.

My buddy Billy is an Art Director for true crime reenactment shows like "Deadly Housewives" and "Killer Siblings" (shows on Discovery). He shares the same offices as "Naked And Afraid".

He tells me how he cracks up every time he walks past the editing room. 10-15 young kids, computer geeks eating pizza and drinking Redbulls who's only job is to blur out the boobs, vajayjay and twigs and berries. 10 hours a day.

But hey, they're working in Show Biz!

In those days the take-out for rafts was over 1/2 mile down from the area I mentioned, all smooth, slow water.

We have a nude beach here in Jersey on Sandy Hook, Gunnison Beach. My friends always asked me to to pass by it when we were out on my boat.
I would tell them, " trust me, the people that hang out on that beach, are not the people you even remotely want to see naked!"...

Long ago back before digital photography, the aerial photography company I used to work for had some neat old aerial film cameras. All the "top level" mapping cameras used 9 inch wide film. Most ended up making a 9x9 exposure.

We had one camera that was designed to do highway survey work. It would make a single exposure of 9x18 inches. and worked great for flying along a road. The camera system had two lenses, the lens used the most was a "wide angle" lens and the other was a long lens telephoto for shooting super high resolution images of the road, and it was almost never used. The camera was enormous and the lens was just physically silly big and it took two people to drop it into the airplane, and it stuck out the bottom and made a lot of drag. It was used in the 1960s a lot from what the old boss said. We had one but it no longer worked. It was just collecting dirt and spiders at the hangar when I worked there. It all went to the dumpster.

Anyway, one of the fellow aerial companies from California contacted us to print one frame of the 9x18 film. They wanted a 16x30 inch print. They had been hired to fly a nude beach at a certain time with all the member there and a lot of other naked friends. Several hundred people, all on the beach, waving at the camera.

Anyway the pilot had to fly in a curve and bank the airplane so the lens pointed at the beach, and the camera operator had to fire the camera as the beach came into view.

We had a copy of it on the wall in the back office that was printed in the late 1960s. It was a bunch of people that no one wanted to see naked.

I went down the Stanislaus with my dad in the late 70's. Not on that day, though. I was a teenager. I think I would have remembered that.

I was canoeing down a river and there was a stunning high school girl getting changed behind a rock - but facing me. She was nervously looking around the corner to check that her friends weren't spying on her as she got into her swimwear. Then she saw me :eek: I just gave her a huge grin and a friendly wave.
